Arima Shizuya completed his Shunko training, advanced his spiritual pressure, and developed Simulated Release to work around Sagara Dragon’s sealed Bankai name. Aizen arranged a battle against captain-class opponents to test Shizuya, and the arc ended as Shizuya faced four captains and began forming Sand Altar.

• Arima Shizuya left the Twelfth Division, learned that Sleeping Number Seven had been named Nemu Kurotsuchi, and promised to visit her again.
• Arima Shizuya confessed his feelings to Kotetsu Isane, and she agreed to become his girlfriend.
• Aizen recruited Arima Shizuya and Tōsen Kaname to seek promising Shinigami, then trained them and explained the requirements for Bankai.
• Arima Shizuya realized Ichibei Hyōsube had sealed Sagara Dragon’s Bankai name, and he and Sagara Dragon agreed to work around the seal by abandoning her True Name.

Arima Shizuya trained Kuchiki Byakuya and Ichimaru Gin, then joined the Fifth Division under Hirako Shinji as Aizen’s schemes advanced. When Aizen attacked Hirako and the others, Arima’s plan brought him into Kisuke Urahara’s confidence, and Urahara prepared to use the Hōgyoku to address the victims’ Hollowfication.

• Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni declared the intruder an enemy of Soul Society, while Aizen and Tōsen Kaname treated Arima Shizuya after his battle with the captains.
• Arima Shizuya completed an internship with Kuchiki Ginrei, trained Kuchiki Byakuya, and helped Byakuya ease the tension with his grandfather before Ginrei offered him a place in the Sixth Division and the Kuchiki Clan.
• Arima Shizuya found Ichimaru Gin among the Academy students, forced him to choose between ordinary studies and training under him, then introduced him to Aizen Sōsuke and Tōsen Kaname.
• After Yoruichi Shihouin and Kuchiki Ginrei argued over Arima Shizuya’s assignment, Arima chose the Fifth Division, where Hirako Shinji made him his second-in-command and warned him about Aizen.
• Arima Shizuya concealed his true Zanpakuto ability from the captains, then spent six months training in Fifth Division duties as Aizen prepared to return.

Arima Shizuya survived the Hollowfication crisis, earned the Fifth Division captaincy, and began shaping the next generation while building ties with the Kuchiki family and Aizen Sōsuke. The arc left Arima preparing for a Captain Meeting and Aizen’s trials for promising candidates.

• Arima Shizuya used the Hōgyoku to learn his Bankai’s name, Tianlong Babu, before the Central Forty-Six sentenced him and his allies after the Hollowfication incident.
• Yoruichi Shihouin rescued Arima Shizuya, Kisuke Urahara, and Tessai Tsukabishi, but Arima chose to remain in Seireitei and face his sentence.
• Arima Shizuya pursued a captaincy, challenged Soi Fon, and defeated her with Tianlong Babu to become Fifth Division Captain.
• Aizen Sōsuke warned Arima Shizuya that using his Bankai risked collapsing his consciousness, and Arima later rested before returning to his duties.

Arima Shizuya introduced new Kidō, recruited promising students into the Fifth Division, and arranged for Ichimaru Gin to take the Tenth Division captaincy. He used the Hōgyoku to create a Hollowfied clone, then welcomed Hinamori Momo as his vice-captain as the experiment’s consequences emerged.

• Arima Shizuya presented eight new Kidō arts to the Captains and demonstrated how his Bankai could share their use across much of Seireitei.
• After a Hollow attack during a Soul Burial assignment, Arima and Ichimaru Gin rescued the students, and Abarai Renji and Hinamori Momo chose the Fifth Division internship while Kira Izuru hesitated.
• Arima persuaded Ichimaru Gin to accept a transfer to the Tenth Division and its captaincy, then showed Aizen Sōsuke and Tōsen Kaname his plan to use the Hōgyoku to Hollowfy a divided part of himself.
• Arima’s Yaksha Clone transformed into a dragon-like Hollow and fought Hollow White, escaping Aizen’s restraints and tearing White in half.
• Ichimaru Gin appointed Hinamori Momo Fifth Division Vice-Captain and left her in Arima’s care before departing for the Tenth Division.
• Hinamori told Arima that the Fifth Division should earn people’s trust and stand ready to sacrifice itself for others, and Arima welcomed her as vice-captain.
• Aizen explained that the Yaksha Clone had power comparable to a Vasto Lorde despite its Adjuchas classification, and Arima manifested a Milky White Mask on his true body.
