After lavishing her with praise, Talot practically coaxed Selari up into the clouds.
For the little girl, there were very few people she cared about, and Talot was the only one she acknowledged as the closest to her.
To put it more bluntly, Selari had already regarded Talot as her other half.
After talking for quite some time, Talot and Selari helped Gine prepare the food.
Only after the three had eaten their fill did Talot begin discussing the exploration of Aoyun Planet.
Over the past few days, although the three of them had been roaming the surrounding area, they had spent most of their time in the valley.
After all, they still needed to see whether there were any other Blood Fruit trees.
Unfortunately, aside from that one tree, they had not found a second one.
Perhaps there was only one, or perhaps there were more on other continents.
By now, they knew everything within several hundred li of the area, so it was time to leave this primordial forest.
Even if they were not here to invade, now that they had come, they naturally could not remain in this one area. They had to see the outside world and, more importantly, take a look at the Aoyun Star People.
To be honest, Talot knew they would not remain on this planet for very long. Aoyun Planet had only been a transit station from the very beginning. Once they finished exploring it, Talot intended to head straight for Earth.
The turning point would be when news of Planet Vegeta's destruction arrived.
After some discussion, Gine and Selari agreed. Talot left behind a clone to protect the Spaceship, and the three of them departed the valley to travel farther afield.
Here, the exploration of Aoyun Planet was underway.
Elsewhere, unbeknownst to Talot and the others, tremendous changes were taking place on Planet Vegeta.
King Vegeta had summoned nearly all the elite Elite Warriors, preparing for a life-and-death battle against the approaching Frieza.
Meanwhile, Frieza was secretly gathering his forces. Over this period, he had also recalled the Saiyans who were scattered across the universe invading alien worlds one by one.
His purpose was naturally to wipe out the Saiyan race in one stroke.
As for some of the stronger ones, Frieza had arranged for his trusted subordinates to personally execute them.
For example, certain combat geniuses with outstanding Battle Power, the pillars of the Saiyans.
In space, on a planet named Planet Meat.
The entire planet had been ravaged beyond recognition, everything on its surface flattened by overwhelming force.
As far as the eye could see, there were endless ruins and billowing smoke.
Beneath a pile of rubble somewhere, a figure was pinned under broken stones, letting out a powerless, soundless roar.
It was none other than Bardock! Just minutes ago, he had engaged in a fierce battle with High-Level Combatants from the Frieza Army.
Though he had killed those men, he had ultimately been grievously injured by Dodoria, who had arrived with overwhelming strength.
Buried here, he had escaped disaster.
Yet this had also become his greatest torment.
As he struggled desperately, his consciousness rose and fell violently. When his mind grew increasingly hazy, he seemed to enter some kind of illusion.
Before his eyes, he saw Talot bringing Selari and Gine to Aoyun Planet, exploring it as everything went smoothly...
The scene shifted, and he saw his son Raditz fighting bloody battles alongside Prince Vegeta's elite unit...
Finally, he saw Kakarot. That Spaceship headed toward the vast sea of stars, until that azure planet appeared before him...
The ability to foresee the future, allowing him to briefly glimpse scenes from the future.
This was the ability Bardock had temporarily gained after the successful conquest of Kanassan, when a Kanassan had attacked him with the Magic Fist.
Through this, the Kanassans had also foretold that the Saiyan race would be destroyed!
Just like the Kanassans, they would be powerless to resist.
"Talot... Kakarot... Raditz... and... Gine!!!" As the vision reached this point, Bardock's consciousness was suddenly jolted awake from the illusion.
An unknown power surged from his severely injured body, allowing him to break free from the pile of rubble.
Not far from him lay the bodies of his teammates.
Toma, Seripa, Dodobo, Pazinbu...
The comrades who had once fought alongside him had all been brutally killed by Frieza's men. Now, he was the only one left alive.
"Damn you, Frieza!! We Saiyans fought for you, yet you treated us like ants to be toyed with at will!!" Filled with unwillingness, Bardock burned with rage over his companions' deaths.
Then, dragging his heavily injured body, he slowly moved forward. His bloodstained face was filled with grief, indignation, and fury.
He had once believed that even if the Kanassans knew something, seeing the future had to be an illusion.
Now, he had no choice but to believe that what he saw might all be real.
For no other reason than that every ominous premonition he had felt before was now beginning to come true.
Frieza had not only truly attacked them, but his next target would be their comrades on Planet Vegeta.
"Luckily, luckily I sent all of you away... Leave the rest to me. I'll definitely be able to do it. And King Vegeta and the others are still there!"
Bardock chose to believe in the future he had just seen.
He believed that Talot, Gine, Raditz, and Kakarot would be safe.
He walked over to his companions. Enduring the agonizing pain coursing through his body, Bardock buried their corpses one by one. In the end, blood stained that strip of white cloth red as he tied it around his head.
"I'll avenge you!"
After leaving those words behind, Bardock slowly returned to his Spaceship and pressed a button. A hidden compartment opened, revealing the Special Medicine and Healing Liquid stored inside.
Fortunately, he had prepared these long ago in case of emergencies.
Though they would not fully heal him, they could at least restore seventy to eighty percent of his injuries.
Without further hesitation, Bardock injected the Healing Liquid into his body and swallowed the Special Medicine as well.
As the medicine took effect, the pain throughout his body gradually faded away, and he finally caught his breath.
"Damn it!! I never thought Dodoria would be that strong, but next time won't be so easy! My Battle Power has actually increased greatly after recovering from such severe injuries," Bardock muttered.
He activated his Battle Power Detector, and the value on it continued to climb.
10,000... 11,000... 12,000... 15,000... 18,000...
The pain brought by his companions' deaths, the breakthrough forged at the edge of life and death.
At this moment, Bardock's Battle Power had reached nearly 20,000! It felt like a final flash of brilliance, an eruption at the absolute limit.
Under normal circumstances, Bardock would have been ecstatic, because this strength had already broken through the barrier that had constrained the Saiyans.
"I wonder how King Vegeta's preparations are going. I need to return to Planet Vegeta and join them immediately."
After starting the Spaceship, Bardock closed his eyes to rest and conserve his strength.
At a time like this, he felt the urge to contact his wife and sons, and he also wanted to contact Talot.
But he knew he could not do that.
Especially on Talot's side. Ever since the signal had cut off more than a month ago, he had worried for a long time. Now, however, he felt that it was a good thing—and that Talot must have been the one responsible.
