History
Founding and early prominence
The Yuan Devil Sect was founded after an ancient Devil Disaster by members of Influential Families whose Divine Weapons or Devil Blades had broken. Seeking another source of strength as their bloodlines weakened, they studied devils and created human cultivation paths based on devil traits. 250 267
During its height, the sect suppressed numerous devils and ranked among the top three of the Hundred Veins. Its strongest inheritance was the Ten Techniques Nine Intentions, a system of ten Devil Bodies and nine Devil Intents. 206 250 258
Decline
A catastrophe destroyed more than 90% of the sect's research, secret arts, and senior members. Its Saint Weapon was also lost, leaving Liu Shanzi—formerly considered mediocre in talent—as the strongest remaining member. 204 206 208
By Lu Sheng's arrival, the sect lacked cultivation resources, disciples, and even reliable security. Rival schools, particularly the Nine Bells School, pressured it for control of its headquarters and Devil Pool resources. 206 217 223
Lu Sheng's revival
Lu Sheng selected the Yuan Devil Sect because its Devil research, historical records, and weak internal oversight offered him both knowledge and freedom. He entered under the arranged identity of the sect master's personal disciple. 204
His strength reversed the sect's position during the Hundred Veins Assembly. The sect gained new recognition, recruits, infrastructure, and resources; Lu Sheng later became its chief disciple and increasingly took responsibility for its growth. 236 248 257 268
Liu Shanzi formally transferred the sect master position to Lu Sheng after the Devil Disaster. 389
Later expansion
Following the Devil Disaster, the Yuan Devil Sect relocated its assets, including the Saint Weapon Pool, and established itself in Great Yin. It recruited wandering cultivators, surviving Influential Family descendants, gangs, and ordinary martial experts for the war against the Devil Army. 308 426
The sect eventually operated from the Devil Palace outside Autumn Moon County. Its forces expanded through warfare, Devil Qi-removal industries, recruitment, and alliances with local factions. 429 500 533
During the Evil Spirit crisis, eleven Influential Families and gangs integrated their remaining forces into the Yuan Devil Sect's alliance. 533
Headquarters and facilities
- Yuan Devil Cave — The original headquarters was a massive black cave in Black Smoke Great Canyon, several hundred miles from White Bell City. 204
- Poison Mist River — A subterranean river of toxic liquid that releases Devil Qi; its leaks form the Devil Pools used for cultivation. 214
- Devil Pools — Cavities of varying Devil Qi concentration, marked by copper basins and incense sticks. They are vital for advancing arts such as the No Cause Art but corrode and injure unprepared users. 208
- Hidden Book Pavilion / Earth Origin Building — The sect library, containing historical records on Divine Weapons, Devil Blades, the sect's lost arts, and its former Saint Weapon. 205 208
- Secret Arts Hall — A restricted hall containing the sect's origins and research into devils. 217
- Rune stone pillar — A central blood-rune pillar connected to the sect's ancient protections and seals; the Black-Clothed Man identified the sealed Devil Lord Bei Ni within it. 250 257
- Saint Weapon Pool — A sect asset later entrusted to Lu Sheng's care and moved during the relocation. 258 308
- Devil Palace — The later headquarters outside Autumn Moon County, built as a massive black palace with above-ground and underground sections. 429
Cultivation and research
Foundational secret arts
The sect historically possessed ninety-nine foundational techniques comparable to the Three Yin Method. These arts were designed for broad compatibility rather than maximum bloodline development. 206
- Three Yin Method — A visualization-based method that develops bodily potential and forms the foundation for Yuan Devil Qi transformation. 206 270
- No Cause Art — The sect's basic method; advancement requires stimulation from Devil Pool energy. 208
- Yuan Devil Secret Art — The sect's highest general inheritance, capable of developing up to 50% of a user's bloodline power; competing schools could reach 80–90%, but with far narrower compatibility. 206
- Yuan Devil Sect secret arts were considered weak at equal nominal marks: its Three-Mark and Five-Mark levels were compared to other schools' Double-Mark and Three-Mark levels respectively. 209
Listening to the Nether Art
The Listening to the Nether Art was the last fully preserved Yuan Devil Secret Art lineage during the sect's decline. It uses purified Yin thoughts and condensed Devil Intent hearts to create and command individual Yin Devils. 221 229
- It does not depend on a specific bloodline, allowing broad use among bloodline disciples. 221
- A practitioner who condenses three Devil Intent hearts is considered a backbone disciple; five marks a genius, while seven or eight normally guarantees Serpent Rank potential. 229
- Lu Sheng condensed nine Devil Intent hearts, a theoretical peak beyond the lineage's recorded eight-heart founder. 229
- Its completed Devil Body, the Listening Nether Devil Body, has the greatest Devil Essence storage and Yuan Devil Qi recovery capacity among the Devil Bodies. 251
Ten Techniques Nine Intentions
The Ten Techniques Nine Intentions were the Yuan Devil Sect's original supreme system: ten Devil Bodies and nine Devil Intents. 258
- Only the Listening to the Nether lineage was known to remain when Lu Sheng questioned Liu Shanzi about the system. 258
- Lu Sheng later found all ten Devil Body secret arts carved in caves deep within the Poison Mist River. 255
- The Devil Bodies began as imitations of devils but were refined by generations of patriarchs into techniques more suitable for humans. 267
- Lu Sheng completed eight great Devil Bodies, including the Fierce Crocodile Devil Body, Yin Ceremony Devil Body, Moon Gazing Dance Devil Body, Breath Severing Devil Body, and Barren Devil Body. 265 270
Eight-Headed Devil Extreme Path
Lu Sheng created the Eight-Headed Devil Extreme Path by integrating the sect's eight Devil Bodies with martial arts, True Qi, and Devil Qi. 299 430
- The complete art contains seventy-two layers even after redundant elements are removed, making it impractical for ordinary disciples. 299
- With sufficient Devil Qi, a normal practitioner would require an estimated 2,628 years to reach its highest Wielder level without a Divine Weapon. 430
- Its fusion of three power systems made it an unprecedented Devil Art and a prospective supreme technique for the sect. 430
Notable members

- Song Zi'an — Senior disciple who guided Lu Sheng through Yuan Devil Cave upon his arrival. 204 205
- Flying Locust Zi — A talented but ruthless disciple who remained largely for the secret art before later betraying the sect. 206 231

- Miss Mi — A giant sleeping python whose poisonous waters occupy part of the sect's cave route. 205

- Different Cavity Sect — A longstanding Assembly rival whose chief disciple Li Du had previously defeated and mutilated Lotus Fragrance Zi. 230 231
- Kaiyang School — A recurring Hundred Veins competitor; Huang Sicheng challenged Lu Sheng during the Assembly's final stage. 230 236
- Yellow Sand Sword School — Its defeat helped establish the Yuan Devil Sect's renewed reputation at the Assembly. 236
- Red Sun Sect — Cooperated with the Yuan Devil Sect during its post-disaster expansion and wartime recruitment. 389 426
- Three Saints Gate — Became the target of Lu Sheng's kill order after provoking his wrath; the sect activated the Mirror of War in response. 560
- Dark Illumination and local factions — The sect hosted representatives of the Three Sects, nearby Influential Families, and other resistance forces during the Evil Spirit crisis. 533
Later era
The Yuan Devil Sect continued to grow after Lu Sheng departed, consolidating knowledge systems and developing a Research Institute with experts spanning Void Darkness, Ming Luo, and Death Star levels. 1144
When Lu Sheng later ordered a strategic move into a secret universe, most of the sect's elite personnel and the Weird Entity Research Association left the Heavenly Devil World to construct a machine-fortress base. Only a small number of avatars remained behind to oversee the original sect. 1192
