Oboro survived the Dark Continent, crossed into a world of demons, and shaped the Demon Slayer Corps while pursuing his own mission. He chose Zekawa to carry that mission forward as the Corps strengthened and Muzan prepared to act.

  • Oboro killed Neferpitou and joined the assault on East Gorteau, then escaped with Youpi and Shaiapouf after Netero’s Poor Man’s Rose killed Meruem.
  • Oboro entered the palace, subdued the Royal Guards, and took them toward Netero and Meruem’s battlefield before fleeing the blast.
  • Oboro took control of Kakin and led companions to the Dark Continent, where deadly creatures and strange rules killed or endangered members of the group.

Arc 9The Chimera Ant Hunt

Oboro hunted the Chimera Ants to strengthen himself, killed Neferpitou, and later slaughtered the colony before pursuing the Royal Guards in East Gorteau. The arc ended with Netero unleashing Zero Hand against Meruem and dying in the Poor Man’s Rose blast, while Oboro escaped with Youpi and Shaiapouf.

  • Oboro and his team hunted Chimera Ants, while Kite led Gon and Killua into NGL and Neferpitou gravely wounded Kite.
  • Oboro fought and killed Neferpitou, imprisoned her soul, and advanced his Nen ranking to fourth.
  • Oboro delayed the Association’s assault as Meruem was born, then rejected Ging’s offer to become Chairman and continued his plans in NGL.
  • Meruem left the nest, and Oboro killed the remaining ants there, including the Queen, before heading to East Gorteau.

Arc 10Across the Dark Continent

After taking control of the Hunter Association and reshaping the world’s powers, Oboro led an expedition into the Dark Continent. The journey cost lives and forced the survivors to adapt to its deadly creatures and strange rules, while Oboro established a refuge and began training his companions.

  • Oboro saved Gon from his battle with Meruem, then watched Meruem die in Komugi’s arms and absorbed his soul.
  • Oboro seized control of Kakin’s political order, killed Beyond and Pariston, and established the Fills Family as a force within the new V6.
  • Oboro left for the Dark Continent with Menchi, Anthony, Fante, Rita, Gabe Vich, and other companions, but the ship was destroyed after they entered the Black Sea.
  • Oboro’s team survived by crossing the desert, but a swarm of explosive insects killed Fante and Rita and badly injured the others.
  • Oboro and the survivors reached an oasis, where he hunted dangerous creatures and found crimson flowers guarded by a blood-marked scarecrow.
  • At an oasis of boiling red pools, Oboro summoned ghosts to fight giant treants, then saved Menchi, Anthony, and Gabe Vich from life-draining pollen.
  • Oboro stopped the group from transforming into crystal-bodied elves by discovering that questioning whether they were dead disrupted the elves’ rule.
  • Oboro led the survivors to a healing vine that restored Anthony’s severed arm, made the area their base, and began training them to adapt to local life-forms.

Arc 11Oboro’s Second World

Oboro stayed behind on the Dark Continent, sought a way to cross worlds, and died after preparing for his departure. He awoke in a samurai’s body in another world, met the Kamado family, and drew the Demon Slayer Corps’ attention.

  • Oboro trained his companions and explored an abandoned city, where a deadly melody revealed humans changed by the Dark Continent.
  • Oboro learned that the continent’s humans had mixed with other species, sent Menchi, Anthony, and Gabe Vich home, then continued hunting and searching for a way between worlds.
  • Oboro gained a trace of rule power, challenged the continent’s rulers, and learned from the Tree God that he had one year to leave its territory.
  • Oboro fused Ai beings and wished for his soul to travel through space and time, then prepared to cross worlds and died on the final day of his deadline.
  • Hisoka died on the Dark Continent, while Don Freecss learned from demihumans that Oboro had defeated a Dominator a century earlier.
  • Oboro awoke in the body of samurai Musashiro, investigated the Kamado family, and traveled to Mount Kumotori to witness Sun Breathing.
  • Oboro killed demons with Soul Breathing and an ordinary katana, met Kamado Tanpei and Kamado Tanjiro, and taught Tanpei how to adapt Sun Breathing to his body.

Arc 12Oboro’s Inherited Will

Oboro gave the Demon Slayer Corps his Breath Control techniques, then became a demon before the Blue Spider Lily restored him to human health. He created Zekawa as a demon to carry his mission forward, while the Corps grew stronger under Ubuyashiki Hideo and Muzan prepared to act against them.

  • Oboro taught the Kamado family improved Sun Breathing, gave Ubuyashiki Kuno books on Breathing Techniques, and declined to join the Demon Slayer Corps.
  • The Corps incorporated Oboro’s Breath Control methods into its training as Oboro tracked disappearances to Qinglin Town and confronted Upper Rank Five, Mireimaru.
  • Oboro drank Mireimaru’s blood, transformed into a demon, and defeated him, while Purgatory Tanjuro and Kawai Ichie fought and survived the Upper Rank’s attacks.
  • Oboro left Mireimaru alive and killed the villagers who had offered captives to the demon, then the Blue Spider Lily healed Oboro and removed most of Muzan’s cells.
  • Seven Hashira confronted Oboro, but he defeated them without being harmed by sunlight and admitted killing the Thunder Hashira and the villagers.
  • Oboro sought someone who would carry his mission to change the world and chose Zekawa, who accepted the task and became a demon alongside the revived puppy, Dark Ball.
  • Zekawa and Dark Ball attacked the Entertainment District, and Oboro suppressed the investigation while the Demon Slayer Corps expanded and Ubuyashiki Kuno named Hideo his successor before dying.
