Jiang Tianya ruled the Beichen Empire before the Human Race's interstellar expansion. Che Qin, the Empire's former commander-in-chief, remained one of his most trusted subordinates and continued to address him as his lord after becoming a Heavenly Being 238.

During the Lion-Eagle conflict, he was already among the Human Race's strongest combatants. He restrained a third-form Lion-Eagle while the Old Sect Master suppressed another, allowing Purple Bamboo to reinforce the battle 200.

After entering the Lightless Galaxy, he explored alongside Wang Yu and the Divine Shaman, registered as an executor in White Bone City, and helped establish trade relations with the Delecott Family 220 228 239. He became the second Human Race Star Envoy during the Darkest Hour, a milestone that marked the Human Race's entry into an era led by Star Envoys 248.
