The Flood Dragon occupied the Jianghuai Dragon Palace after the old Dragon Lord's death or disappearance. It monopolized the remaining True Dragon Legacy, drove the Dragon Palace's enlightened species and descendants from their home, and sought to establish itself as the next Dragon Lord. 166 365
Its path to true-dragon status depended on refining the Dragon Palace's legacy. The “Dragon Pearl” it relied upon is not a portable pearl, but the roots of the Fire Tree Silver Flower beneath the palace; the Flood Dragon coiled around and gnawed these roots daily to refine them. 1133
When Liang Qu gained Jianghuai Favorability, the Flood Dragon sensed him as a threat and summoned demons across the Great Marsh to find a “thief” in the south. After being driven from Jianghuai by the White Ape, the Flood Dragon fled south into the Lu Cang River. The White Ape repeatedly disrupted the attempt, ultimately using the Drought Demon to cut off the water and collapse the Flood Dragon's gathered momentum. Before either could finish the battle, powerful figures intervened and ordered both sides to withdraw. 1173
