Background

The Gawain Family is a Celestial Dragon line with a singular inheritance tradition: it has only one heir at a time, and its head alone inherits the name Gawain. Gawain’s name is therefore both his surname and given name. 13 188

He inherited the family leadership after the previous heads—identified as his parents—died in a shipwreck during sea travel. The Five Elders subsequently elevated his security clearance and confirmed him as head of one of the nineteen Celestial Dragon families. 13 188
