The Three-Headed Dog Guarding the Treasure
The corridor on the right side of the fourth floor of the castle, where students were forbidden from entering, was actually no different from the other corridors in the castle. However, because Dumbledore had forbidden students from entering at the opening banquet, it was completely deserted and seemed gloomy.
"I don't think there's anything special about this place!" Truman followed in with his friends, and closed the wooden door behind him to prevent others from noticing that someone had entered the restricted area of the corridor.
After the door closed, the corridor immediately became very dark.
"Why did Dumbledore forbid other students from coming here?" a freckled boy next to Truman couldn't help but ask.
No one could understand why, according to Dumbledore, anyone who did not wish to suffer an accident or die a painful death should not enter the right-hand corridor on the fourth floor, which is this place.
That means there might be something in this corridor that threatens their lives?
"There must be some secret hidden here." Fred had already pulled his wand out of his pocket, chanted a spell to light the tip, and began to look around, trying to figure out what the so-called danger was.
The others also lit their wands and looked around warily, and the atmosphere suddenly became heavy.
"Everyone knows there's a secret here," the freckled boy next to Truman said irritably. "Where did those upperclassmen who came in earlier go?"
Lee Jordan quietly walked up to the freckled boy and whispered, "Maybe he's already fallen into a trap and died a tragic accident."
Since his last adventure through Gryffindor, he has remained remarkably calm in the face of any situation.
The freckled boy was startled by Lee Jordan and almost screamed.
When he came to his senses, his cheeks immediately turned bright red, and he glared at Lee Jordan.
"This is not funny at all," Truman couldn't help but criticize.
"Since Dumbledore says it's dangerous here, we should be on guard. I don't want to see you die a horrible death in front of me."
Although his words were meant to intimidate them, Truman didn't want anything to happen to them.
"Alright, stop fooling around. Let's look around. I feel like there might be some unexpected surprises here." Albert put his hand on Lee Jordan's shoulder, signaling him to stop joking around.
"I didn't expect him to be so cowardly."
Fred and George couldn't help but laugh and stepped forward to look for the so-called danger.
Albert shook his head helplessly, waved his wand lightly, and the torches on the wall next to him were lit, illuminating a large part of the originally dim corridor.
There were no other classrooms on either side of the corridor, and they encountered no danger as they walked along. What came into their view was a door at the end of the corridor.
Perhaps the secret lies hidden inside the door.
Just as everyone was about to go and check what was going on inside the door, the wooden door was suddenly kicked open, and several older students ran out of the door screaming.
The next moment, in full view of everyone, a monstrous dog squeezed out of the door, one of its heads biting the leg of the older student who was running at the back, and amidst the screams and exclamations of the people, it prepared to drag the unfortunate guy into the door.
To be honest, Albert was also taken aback by Fluffy's size; the guy was so big it could fill the space from ceiling to floor. Its three heads, and three pairs of menacing, darting eyes, were all fixed on these uninvited outsiders.
Soon, Fluffy snapped back to its senses, its deafening roar echoing down the corridor. It made a move as if to pounce on the group, causing everyone to scream and turn to run away.
Albert narrowed his eyes slightly, waved his wand, and a ball of light suddenly exploded in the corridor. After Fluffy released the student whose leg had been bitten, he immediately waved his wand and dragged the unfortunate bitten guy back from the floor.
The student screamed in terror as he was dragged along the marble floor by magic. By the time the Three-Headed Dog came to its senses, it found its prey had been stolen.
However, Albert had already erected a transparent magical shield between the two sides. The Three-Headed Dog crashed into the magical shield, looking very angry, and scratched at the invisible magical shield with its claws.
Albert had no doubt that the big guy in front of him had forgotten about him, but he was absolutely certain that the unlucky guy he had just pulled back had fainted from fright.
"Hurry, hurry, drag him away!" Albert urged.
Most of the students who had entered the corridor had already run away. Fred and the others who were still standing there seemed to be considering whether to use Stunning Spell on the big dog in front of them, but after hearing Albert's words, they decided to do as he said. Each of them grabbed one of the students' shoulders and thighs and quickly carried the person away. After Albert left the corridor, they closed the wooden door again.
Now they know why this place is off-limits.
"You saved Klaun! Thank God! How did you manage to get Klaun out of that big dog?" The two students who had first run away turned back and almost burst into tears of joy when they saw their friend being dragged away by the dog.
"You guys actually abandoned your own companions." The freckled boy next to Truman looked at them with disdain, as if he himself hadn't turned and run away immediately.
"I know why Dumbledore doesn't allow people to come here. We were almost bitten to death by it just now." Both of them were a little embarrassed, and one of them said, clutching his chest.
"What are they trying to do, locking such a monster in the school!" Truman gasped, his voice a mixture of shock and anger; he had clearly been terrified himself.
"They all escaped." Fred curled his lip in disdain and looked at Albert, asking, "What should we do with this guy? He seems to have passed out."
"You think everyone is as fearless as you are?" someone muttered under their breath.
Albert and the others didn't escape; in fact, they managed to rescue the person.
"Alright, calm down, guys. Let's get your friend to the School Hospital first. He's been bitten on the leg. Hopefully, Madam Pomfrey can heal him." Albert interrupted their argument. Only now did he notice who the guy with the bitten thigh was.
Klaun Pruett.
Yes, the Prefect before him was the guy he met when he first came to Hogwarts in his first year.
It seems he didn't get elected as Student Council President this year.
"They're not Gryffindor students," Fred said quietly.
"I know."
Albert had already noticed that all three of them were Prefect.
The Prefect Prefect Gryffindor, before Ravenclaw, and Prefect Hufflepuff —were they all here looking for trouble since none of them were elected Student Council President? "Excuse me, could you lend a hand and get them to the School Hospital?" Fred said to Truman.
After Fred and the others carried the person away, Albert looked at the two men whose expressions were not good and asked, "You used a spell on that Three-Headed Dog, right?"
"The Stunning Spell, but it doesn't seem to have worked. It just shook its head and woke up." One of them was still a little shaken, but he thanked Albert again for saving Klaun Pruett.
That guy was actually trying to delay Three-Headed Dog by covering the rear, but because he didn't have the protagonist's halo, he almost had his leg bitten off and even lost his life.
"Use Stunning Spell?" Albert raised an eyebrow and asked again.
"We saw that big dog guarding something, and there's a Trapdoor inside," the Ravenclaw boy suddenly said. "I bet ten Galleon that Dumbledore has hidden something valuable there!"
"Probably, but our skinny arms and legs aren't enough to feed that big dog for lunch." Albert didn't deny it, and walked towards the Medical Room, turning back to the two before leaving, "Do you want to come with me?"
