A Complete Victory
"Flint's despicable behavior has completely enraged the audience in the stands!" Lee Jordan shouted into the microphone, his voice filled with barely concealed excitement. "Look, someone is throwing Dark Curse at him from the stands. That's great, oh, I mean, terrible. There's chaos on the field right now, and Madam Hooch has had to blow her whistle to stop the game."
"Jordan!" Professor McGonagall hissed.
"Speaking of which, the fact that Flint wasn't hit by the Dark Curse makes me bet he stepped in dog poop today." Lee Jordan got more and more excited as he spoke, but when he noticed Professor McGonagall was about to take the microphone away from him, he quickly changed his tune, saying, "Alright, alright, Slytherin's Quidditch captain did indeed manage to prevent Gryffindor from winning the match, and almost killed Gryffindor Team's Seeker. His despicable actions also aroused the audience's dissatisfaction. Hopefully, Flint won't be hit by the Dark Curse during the match."
Madam Hooch shouted at the stands to stop people from hurling Dark Curse at the players, and the game was suspended for ten minutes before the chaos subsided.
However, the chaos just now could not change the fact that Gryffindor Team had been completely overwhelmed by Slytherin Team. The current score is 20:40, with Slytherin Team in the lead.
This wasn't the first time Fred and George had encountered this situation; the two had long been using dirty tricks against the Slytherin Team. Pursuer Bell was threatened by Fred's stick and had to raise his broom to dodge it, for which he took a direct hit from George's Bludger, which knocked his nose crooked.
Awesome!
The Weasley Twins high-fived in mid-air, eliciting cheers from Gryffindor.
However, their joy was short-lived. The Bludger fell from Bell's hands, was caught by another Slytherin Team pursuer, and scored amidst the Slytherin ' roars.
Is there something wrong with Potter's broom?
In the stands, Isobel noticed the changes on the field and gestured to Albert to pay attention to Potter's situation, "I don't think a Slytherin student has the ability to interfere with a Flying Broom."
Has it started?
Albert muttered under his breath and moved his Binoculars toward Potter's position. Sure enough, Potter's broomstick was out of control, twitching and twisting wildly, rising higher and higher, carrying Harry Potter away from the arena.
"What did you just say?" Isobel asked, raising an eyebrow slightly.
"Look over there..." Albert pointed in Snape's direction, "I bet someone is casting Dark Curse on Potter's broom."
"Snape?" Isobel looked in the direction Albert was pointing and saw Snape standing not far away, staring intently at Potter in the sky, muttering to himself as if he were about to cast a spell to kill Harry Potter.
"That shouldn't be the case!"
"What?"
"I don't think Snape would be that stupid. Even if he could throw Potter off a great height, he couldn't possibly kill Potter outright."
That's right, Isobel's idea makes perfect sense. Most of the Hogwarts professors are here to watch the Quidditch Match. If Harry Potter gets thrown off the broom, a professor will definitely cast a Shock Absorption Charm on him in time, easily solving the problem of a fall from a great height. Harry Potter will be perfectly fine; at most, he'll be frightened.
"I don't know why Snape likes to mess with Harry Potter," Albert said, "But unless he's had his brain slammed in a door, he shouldn't resort to such a dirty trick."
"Do you already know who's Dark Curse Potter's broom?"
Isobel looked at Albert in surprise. She also thought it was unlikely to be Snape, since Snape, that gloomy guy, didn't seem like a fool at all.
Albert smiled but did not answer.
Isobel then turned his attention to the other professors, his brow furrowing slightly as his gaze swept over Professor Quirrell.
This new Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor is indeed very suspicious.
"Professor Quirrell?"
Why do you say that?
"Professor Quirrell is actually quite suspicious. That Large Scarf ... well, I can't read his mind," Isobel said. "From my impression of him, Professor Quirrell is clearly not a very good wizard. He is probably more theoretical, and there aren't many wizards who are good at Occlumency."
"Although there is no evidence, Quirrell may be a henchman of the Lord Voldemort." Albert said in a voice only the two of them could hear. "From now on, stay away from Quirrell, and don't try to use Legilimency on him."
"And yet you still go and ask him questions all the time. I heard Professor Quirrell is avoiding you now," Isobel said, rather speechless. "But what is Quirrell doing at Hogwarts? Is it to get rid of Potter, or to steal that thing in the Fourth Floor Forbidden Area Corridor?"
"It should be the latter," Albert said without hesitation. "Getting rid of Potter should just be a side effect."
"I remember Professor Quirrell came from Ravenclaw House, he shouldn't be that stupid!"
"Who knows?" Albert didn't really understand why Quirrell thought that simply throwing Potter off his Flying Broom would kill him.
Perhaps Voldemort's possession lowered his intelligence? Perhaps he was actually forced to do this by Voldemort?
Maybe...
In short, all of this seemed like a farce to Albert.
Yes, it was a farce.
At this moment, all the spectators in the stands noticed the unusual thing about Harry's broom. Everyone was whispering and discussing what was wrong with Harry's broom.
The Slytherin students were all staring at Harry Potter, and some even started shouting "Fall down! Fall down!" They thought that if Potter fell off the broom, they could empty Kenneth Toller's pockets of every penny and even strip him of his trousers before leaving to pay off their debts.
Harry was in a very bad situation; he almost fell off the broom and was currently hanging in mid-air with only one hand holding onto the broom handle, his condition extremely precarious.
Albert wasn't too worried about Potter's situation. His Binoculars fell below the banner, and Hermione, who had been beside Ron, had disappeared. Albert then shifted his gaze to Snape, finding the guy startled and trying to extinguish the flames on his robes.
Albert shifted his gaze back to Potter, and sure enough, the broom was back to normal, Harry had climbed back onto the broom handle, much to the disappointment of most of the Slytherin students. They now experienced the same feeling that the students who had bet on Harry catching the Golden Snitch had had—like riding a rollercoaster.
Albert's discovery that Snape was being unfairly blamed was not without reason. If he didn't know the plot and had seen what happened, he probably would have thought that Snape was casting Dark Curse on Potter's broom, or at most he would have suspected that Snape might have some intellectual problems.
About twenty minutes into the game, Slytherin Team continued to slowly extend their lead, scoring two more goals to make it 20-60.
Just as people were getting angry about the Slytherin players' attempt to attack Harry, they saw Harry suddenly dart down to dodge the oncoming Bludger and once again engage in a chase with Higgins for the Golden Snitch.
This time, as they swooped down at high speed towards the Golden Snitch on the ground, Higgins gave up at the last moment.
"Potter caught the Golden Snitch." Albert said to Isobel with a smile as he saw Harry holding the Golden Snitch he had spat out of his mouth above his head.
"Congratulations, you won the bet again. Remember to treat us next time."
The match ended in chaos, with Gryffindor Team ultimately defeating Slytherin Team 170-60.
"He didn't catch the Golden Snitch, Potter almost swallowed it whole!" Flint roared angrily, but to no avail. Harry caught the Golden Snitch and won the victory for Gryffindor, and worse, he and his friends lost a huge sum of Galleon as a result.
After the game, Flint was cornered on the Quidditch Pitch by a group of students—they were there to collect a debt.
