Collective Debt Collection
"So, for now, you're only getting back the initial bets from Flint?"
Albert glanced down at the five Galleon Fred had handed him, then looked up at Fred, George, and Lee Jordan sitting across from him, all looking pleased, and asked, "Is Flint not planning to pay me back?"
"That bastard is definitely trying to renege on his debt," George said angrily. "He's not going to pay back the money ever since Slytherin Team lost the game."
"If we hadn't followed your advice and gathered a bunch of people to ambush him, we might not have been able to get the money back." Lee Jordan was quite impressed with Flint's shamelessness; the guy was actually planning to deny everything.
"What do you mean by robbery? Can this even be called robbery?"
Fred and George were very dissatisfied with Lee Jordan's statement and protested directly. "We were just going to get back the Galleon we won from our bet."
"You clearly used a spell to knock him out without my knowledge," Lee Jordan muttered under his breath.
"It's all that bastard Flint's fault for trying to renege on his debt, and all I did was silence him." Fred regretted not using the Stunning Spell directly.
"Moreover, it was George who used the Stunning Spell."
"Nonsense, I clearly used Full Body-Bind Curse," George protested.
Albert covered his face with his hands. These bastards must have secretly cast a spell on Flint and his men in the chaos, knocking them down. He asked again, "You didn't just dump them on the snow, did you?"
"How could we be like that!" Fred said seriously. "Following your advice, we left Flint and his friends in the Slytherin dressing room, where it was warm and cozy. Well, at worst they'd catch a little cold. And when we got back to the house, we even subtly hinted to the Slytherin students that their Quidditch player had passed out in the dressing room."
"I reckon Flint won't be able to come up with the money anytime soon," Albert said, bending down to pick up his fat cat. "It'll probably take some effort to get back the Galleon that are rightfully his."
"It's a pity that Flint and his companions don't have any extra Galleon." Lee Jordan enjoyed watching Flint's bewildered and confused expression as he witnessed himself being robbed by a group of people.
"They've staked a huge amount of Galleon with that bastard Kenneth Toller, and some students haven't even gotten their principal back yet." Fred rubbed the Galleon between his fingers as he began to tell Albert how they had cornered Flint and his companions and successfully retrieved their deposits.
Who were you just yelling at?!
Kenneth Toller swaggered over, his face practically beaming with joy.
"We made about thirty Galleon this time. This is yours, and the rest has already been settled."
He reached into the pocket of his robe, pulled out a money pouch, counted out fourteen Galleon, and handed it to Albert. Then, he pulled out a parchment and presented it to Albert, indicating that he had not lied to him.
Very few people actually win money betting with Kenneth Toller. There are quite a few people who support Harry, but the amount of money wagered is very small, usually only one or two Sickle. Most of the Galleon are actually earned from Slytherin. Those guys are very confident in themselves, and as a result, they are basically all wiped out.
"By the way, I heard that Flint the bastard owes someone over a hundred Galleon." Kenneth Toller asked Fred, George, and Lee Jordan for answers. He knew that the three of them had led a group to ambush Flint and should know exactly how much money those unlucky guys had lost.
"It's two hundred and thirty-five Galleon and ten Sickle. I just copied Flint's bill so that the bastard won't try to renege on it!" George smiled and pulled a piece of parchment from his pocket, which contained the data of Flint's gambling operations. They had just settled the accounts and found that those guys really did owe a mountain of debt.
"This is no small sum of money," Kenneth Toller recalled his less-than-pleasant experience last year.
"Who told him to dare offer odds of 1 to 4? He's insane." Fred shrugged, showing no pity for the unfortunate Slytherin players. "Besides, he deliberately broke the rules during the match to prevent Harry from catching the Golden Snitch. You should have seen that the Slytherin Team could even be said to have lost twice."
"I even suspect that Harry almost fell off the broom was done by Slytherin," George said.
"It might be Snape," Kenneth Toller suddenly said. "Later, his robes somehow caught fire, and Harry's broom returned to normal."
"Snape?" The three exchanged glances, then looked at Albert in unison. "Could Snape be so shameless?"
"At the time, I did see Snape seemingly reciting something," Albert said, stating what he had seen. Although he didn't say it directly, he essentially pinned the blame on Snape.
There's no way around it, Snape really deserves to take the blame.
"You guys have no idea, I was terrified when I saw Harry almost fall off his Flying Broom." Kenneth Toller recalled what happened, and it was truly beyond terrifying. If Harry had actually fallen off the broomstick, he would probably be in even worse shape Flint right now.
After all, Flint had people to help share the burden, while he had to shoulder it all by himself.
Fortunately, Albert's words came true, otherwise he would have had to pay back that bastard Flint even for his pants.
"I believe Flint will definitely learn from this lesson and won't dare to run betting games recklessly again," Albert said softly.
"But how do you plan to get the money back?" Kenneth Toller asked curiously. "Will you be spending all your time harassing Flint?"
"Following Albert's plan, we're ready to join forces and get our money back," Lee Jordan said with a smile, describing Albert's plan.
"Where is Albert?" Kenneth Toller noticed that Albert had mysteriously disappeared.
"What do you need me for?" Albert looked up and asked, as he was teasing Tom with a cat toy. The boy wasn't shy around strangers anymore.
Do you think Flint will pay back the money?
"There are sixty students betting in total. You know how many students there are in the entire Hogwarts." Albert picked up Tom, rubbed his ears and said, "Flint has offended so many people at once. This is no joke. Believe me, people will be betting on him every day and asking him for money."
"Moreover, Flint will be staying at the school for two more years. If someone keeps bothering him, Flint will eventually be forced to pay back the money to the students who won the bet."
"What if he doesn't have money?"
"Let's see who can't take it anymore," Albert said softly.
"If you really can't get the money, then take his pants off and give them to me," Kenneth Toller said with a grin. "I'll pay one Galleon for his pants."
"What do you want his pants for?" The group looked at Kenneth Toller with strange expressions.
"That bastard Flint said he'd take my underwear as payment if I didn't have the money to pay." Kenneth Toller's smile was a little creepy. "I don't want his underwear that hasn't been washed in weeks, it makes me sick. His trousers will do."
After saying that, Kenneth Toller walked away happily.
"What a perverse fellow," Fred muttered.
Do you think he'll pay?
Perhaps, someone will actually do that.
"That's just asking for trouble!"
As Albert listened to their conversation, he silently mourned for Flint for three seconds.
