Nicolas Flamel and the Philosopher's Stone
Why didn't Albert just tell him what the Philosopher's Stone was?
Before falling asleep, Hermione kept thinking about this question.
Is he deliberately being mysterious? That's quite like something Albert likes to do.
Or is there a deeper meaning to this? Actually, Hermione didn't think Albert liked doing unimportant things either, and decided to find a time to figure things out so she could understand why he did it that way.
However, Hermione soon discovered that the Philosopher's Stone, like Nicolas Flamel, offered no useful information whatsoever. What frustrated Hermione even more was that she realized she still knew nothing about many things.
Finally, if she really can't find it, Hermione should take the opportunity during Charms Class to ask Professor Flitwick about the Philosopher's Stone.
Professor Flitwick wasn't keen on answering the question, only telling Hermione that the Philosopher's Stone involved ancient alchemy and was a magical substance with amazing powers.
Hermione sensed something unusual from Professor Flitwick's tone. She was one of Professor Flitwick's favorite students, and Professor Flitwick was always happy to help answer her questions.
Is there a problem with the Philosopher's Stone?
"What do you want with Professor Flitwick?"
When Hermione left the Charms Classroom, Harry and Ron were waiting for her in the Charms Classroom Armor Corridor outside.
Alchemy?
Hermione seemed not to hear her two friends' questions and muttered to herself.
"What's wrong with her?"
Ron and Harry exchanged a puzzled look.
"Have no idea."
"I understand!" Hermione suddenly dashed back to the Common Room, leaving Harry and Ron, who were watching her retreating figure, even more confused. After exchanging glances, they could only helplessly follow her.
Upon returning to the Gryffindor Common Room, Hermione immediately ran back to the Girls' Dormitory, grabbed a huge old book from her bedside table, and reappeared before Harry and Ron.
"Why didn't I think to look here!" Hermione exclaimed, her voice trembling with emotion. "I should have thought of it last night."
"Looking for what, Nicolas Flamel?" Harry asked, puzzled.
"Where did you get this book?" Ron was more curious about this question. He wasn't exactly a book lover, and the huge book made him dizzy.
"I borrowed this from the library a few weeks ago for entertainment," Hermione said, flipping through the pages quickly.
"Just for fun?" Ron looked at Hermione in horror and said, "I bet you've gone mad."
"Ron, don't bother me."
Hermione asked the two to be quiet so she could look up some information. The girl muttered to herself and began flipping through the pages rapidly.
"The Philosopher's Stone, found it. Harry, I also found Nicolas Flamel!" When Hermione found the information about the Philosopher's Stone, she was shocked to see that its creator was Nicolas Flamel. At the same time, she also felt that Albert's words back then were a bit intriguing.
"Nicolas Flamel, you found him?" Harry leaned closer, wanting to see Nicolas Flamel's file, but Hermione pushed him away.
"Stop keeping us in suspense, just tell us about Nicolas Flamel," Ron urged.
Hermione ignored him and began to read aloud from the book in a low voice, "Nicolas Flamel is the only known maker of the Philosopher's Stone. Well, no wonder Albert said the contents of that parchment were fake."
"What stone?" Harry and Ron were both confused.
"The Philosopher's Stone, remember the parchment I had Albert translate? It contained the recipe for making the Philosopher's Stone," Hermione explained.
She understood why Albert had asked her to investigate the Philosopher's Stone, but Hermione was still a little confused. Why would Albert tell them this? "Ancient alchemy involved the creation of the Philosopher's Stone, a magical substance with astonishing properties. The Philosopher's Stone can turn any metal into pure gold, and can also create..."
"The Philosopher's Stone can turn into gold!" Ron's voice rose eight octaves as he screamed, interrupting Hermione and pressing his head against the book in disbelief, wanting to see for himself if it was true.
"That's what it says, and don't interrupt me." Hermione glared at Ron, annoyed, and continued reading, "It can also create Elixir of Life, making those who drink it never die."
"Make someone... never die?" Harry thought he must have misheard.
"Don't interrupt me." Hermione was annoyed at being interrupted so many times, and continued reading, "There have been many reports about the Philosopher's Stone over the centuries, but the only surviving one currently belongs to the famous Philosopher's Stone, Mr. Nicolas Flamel ..."
"My God, he's 665 years old?" Harry felt like he was dreaming. Could the Philosopher's Stone really make people live that long?
"It should be true," Ron said without hesitation. The Wizarding World does indeed have many wondrous things.
"That big dog must be guarding Nicolas Flamel's Philosopher's Stone!" Hermione said with certainty.
"But why is the Philosopher's Stone with Dumbledore?" Ron asked, puzzled.
"I think I know why!"
This time, it was Harry's turn to run back to the Boys' Dormitory. When he returned, he was holding a Chocolate Frog Card, which was Dumbledore's Chocolate Frog Card.
"I told you I'd seen this name somewhere before," Harry said excitedly, waving the Chocolate Frog Card in his hand. "Look at this!"
He handed the card to Ron, Ron began to read the text on the back, "Dumbledore's well-known contributions include: defeating the Dark wizard Grindelwald in 1945, discovering the Twelve Uses of Dragon's Blood, and his fruitful work in alchemy with his partner Nicolas Flamel!"
"I dare say it was Nicolas Flamel who asked Dumbledore to keep the Philosopher's Stone for him, because they were good friends, and Dumbledore definitely knew someone was after the Philosopher's Stone. That's why he moved it out of Philosopher's Stone." Gringotts looked extremely Hermione, as if she had gotten first place in the exam.
"A stone that can turn into gold and grant you eternal life!" Harry exclaimed, taking a deep breath. "No wonder Snape was after it too!"
"Everyone would want it!"
Ron was drooling as he imagined himself with a pile of gold.
"Albert must have known about the Philosopher's Stone's Philosopher's Stone for a long time. He might even be after it, which is why he didn't want to tell us." Harry thought that with Albert's abilities, he might actually have a way to get his hands on the Philosopher's Stone.
"Harry, Albert was the one who told us about the Philosopher's Stone." Hermione disagreed with Harry's point of view at all. If Albert really didn't want her to know about the Philosopher's Stone 'Philosopher's Stone, he wouldn't have given her the formula for it.
"Didn't he say that recipe was fake?" Ron's mind was filled with Philosopher's Stone and gold, and he didn't realize what he was saying at all.
"However, I agree with Harry. If I were him, I would definitely try to get my hands on the Philosopher's Stone too." Ron said, looking at Harry. "We can talk to Albert. I dare say Fred and George definitely know about this."
"I don't think Albert would ever steal Professor Dumbledore's Philosopher's Stone." Hermione disagreed with the two of them, feeling that Albert might know many things that they didn't.
