Rumors Are Silenced by Fists
February 14th falls on a Friday, which is quite a disappointment for some Hogwarts students. If it could be delayed by a day, they could have taken their girlfriends to Hogsmeade to Valentine's Day.
This would undoubtedly help improve the relationship between the two, but unfortunately, this day could not be delayed any longer.
"Wood is a devil. He's even planning to do Quidditch practice today. I don't know how his girlfriend hasn't broken up with him."
George, who had just gotten up and was having breakfast, was grumbling about Quidditch training. It had been raining a lot lately, and training in Quidditch rain was undoubtedly a painful ordeal.
"You don't need to curse him anymore. I heard Wood broke up with his girlfriend a long time ago," Lee Jordan, sitting next to them, said jokingly, covering his mouth with his hand as he yawned.
"Don't spread rumors. If Wood comes over and beats you up later, don't blame us for not helping you," Albert said with a laugh as he spread a thick layer of Blueberry Jam on bread.
"That's why I said that, George wanted to hear it." Lee Jordan smiled, not paying much attention to Albert's words.
"They're making us do extra practice tomorrow? That's really going too far!" Fred complained as well. His homework was already piling up, and Wood was still trying to make things harder for them.
"Wood wanted to see Gryffindor Team than anyone else," Angelina remarked. "He worked harder than anyone else."
"By the way, is Wood really heartbroken?" Aylia had just sat down opposite Albert when she overheard Lee Jordan's words and couldn't help but ask curiously.
The captain's dating history is indeed very intriguing to girls.
"Don't take Lee Jordan's rumors seriously," Albert explained to the girls after finishing his bread.
"But... I heard that Wood really was dumped by his girlfriend," Angelina muttered softly, "Just recently."
"Shall we go to Hogsmeade together tomorrow?" Shanna invited Albert.
Just then, a flock of owls flew into the hall and delivered the letters and packages accurately to the young wizard. Albert also received two letters, and just as he was about to open the envelopes to read the contents, Kenneth Toller appeared out of nowhere. He put his hand on Albert's shoulder and said to him, "Have you finished reading the letters?"
"I was just about to look at it," Albert said, shaking the half-opened envelope.
"They agreed. She wants to meet you in Hogsmeade," Kenneth Toller said without hesitation. "At Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop. Well, she'll probably invite Madam Puddifoot to be a witness to this deal."
"I hope she doesn't pull any silly tricks," Albert thought for a moment and then said, "If she's truly committed to a fair deal, I'd be happy to accept it. If she's not, or if she has other intentions, it's best to abandon the deal to avoid leaving a bad impression on both of us."
"I understand what you mean, and I will definitely make it clear to her." Kenneth Toller nodded. He really wanted to make the deal happen, since there was a commission to be made, but he also knew that Albert was not someone to be fooled.
If Madam Primpernelle truly believed that Albert's underage status made him easy to fool, she would be sorely mistaken. A deal made without sincerity is best avoided.
Of course, Albert wasn't worried about being deceived. Having mastered Legilimency, he was hard to fool, and he would be taking Isobel with him, so he wasn't worried about being tricked at all.
He just hates those self-righteous adults who treat him like a fool.
Albert opened the letter; it was from Madam Primpernelle, who was telling him about this matter and had already arranged a time and place for their meeting.
"What are you two whispering about?" Shanna couldn't help but raise an eyebrow and ask. The two of them were acting mysteriously, as if they were discussing something very secretive.
"Kenneth Toller said someone wants to meet me tomorrow, so I'm afraid I can't go to Hogsmeade with you," Albert politely declined Shanna's invitation.
"That's a real shame," Shanna said, sounding somewhat disappointed.
In the afternoon, Albert talked to his three roommates about the trade that was going to happen the next day.
"How about I go with you?" Lee Jordan suggested. Fred and George definitely wouldn't be able to go to Hogsmeade tomorrow, but he was really looking forward to going with Albert to see it for himself.
"I've already found someone better."
"So you really have a girlfriend!" Lee Jordan quickly realized what this meant and waved his hand dismissively, complaining, "Honestly, you've forgotten all about your friends now that you have a girlfriend."
Who is Albert's girlfriend?
The Twins had always been curious about this. In fact, they had suspected long ago that Albert had a girlfriend, but they had never caught Albert on a date with someone else, not even with the help of Marauder's Map.
"There are some things you shouldn't say carelessly. I saw Wood looking for you around noon," Albert patted Lee Jordan on the shoulder, offering a friendly reminder.
"What does Wood want with me?" Lee Jordan asked, puzzled.
"It's probably because you spread the news that Wood was dumped by his girlfriend everywhere." Fred patted Lee Jordan on the shoulder from the other side, giving him a "good luck" look.
"Wood really got dumped?" Lee Jordan stared at Fred, his mouth agape in disbelief, Merlin's beard agape. He swore he'd just been saying it casually that morning.
"You guys aren't trying to scare me, are you?!"
"Oh, I've finally found you!"
Suddenly, a hand reached out from behind Lee Jordan and placed on his shoulder.
Lee Jordan heard a familiar voice coming from behind him, so he stiffly turned around and saw Wood standing behind him.
"Wood, what do you need me for?" Lee Jordan asked dryly.
"I have something I'd like to discuss with him." Wood put his hand on Lee Jordan's shoulder, gave Albert and the others an apologetic smile, and then led Lee Jordan away amidst Lee Jordan's despairing gaze.
When Albert saw Lee Jordan again, he noticed a dark circle under his right eye, and it was clear that Wood couldn't resist punching Lee Jordan in the end.
"You should get rid of that nagging mouth of yours." Albert suppressed a laugh as he handed Lee Jordan a jar of Anti-Swelling Ointment to apply around his eyes.
"He got what he deserved!" Fred laughed gleefully.
"Yes, he brought it on himself," George agreed.
