The Troubles of Fame
At this moment, outside King's Cross Station, the Anderson family is saying goodbye before parting ways.
"Are you really not going to take Tom to school?" Daisy asked again, the third time in recent days.
Albert's family did not understand his decision.
They all knew that Albert must have had a reason for leaving the Fat Cat Tom at his grandmother's house, but he didn't seem prepared to tell them.
Based on Daisy's understanding of her son, she guessed that Albert saw something in the Prophecy, which is why he made such a decision.
"No, let Grandpa Luke take care of Tom for a while!" Albert said with a smile. "They told me last time that the neighbors have a female cat, maybe we can find Tom a companion."
Both elderly people liked Tom very much, especially since he was such a cute and cuddly chubby cat who was easy to care for and a great companion for seniors.
Albert reached out and tugged at the chubby cheek of Fat Cat Tom, instructing, "Don't cause trouble, understand?"
"Meow!"
Tom grumbled in dissatisfaction, seemingly protesting Albert's brutality, and pulled his head back into the car.
With Basilisk roaming the country this semester, Albert naturally didn't want his cat to venture out to school. If it ran away and encountered Basilisk again, it would cause a lot of trouble.
"Okay, since you've decided." Daisy kissed Albert's forehead and said, "See you Christmas Holiday, and be careful."
"I will." Albert gave Herb another hug, and then looked at Nia.
"Remember to write to me."
Nia kissed Albert's cheek, then hugged him, reminding him, "Take good care of yourself. Don't be fooled by girls' Eloquent Deception. They're more interested in your fame than in you."
"He's definitely hiding something from us," Nia muttered softly, watching Albert's departing figure.
"That's normal. Albert's grown up now, and he'll have his own little secrets. Nia will have her own little secrets too, won't she?" Herb smiled and put his arm around his wife's shoulder. "Let's go back!"
"Albert never used to hide it from me," Nia murmured. "He must have found a girlfriend at school."
"Albert's reached the age where he needs a girlfriend," Daisy said with a smile. "Do you want him to be single forever?"
"So, he did find a girlfriend, right!" Nia said with a gloomy face. "Many girls like to date famous guys; it makes them look good. Simple-minded people like Albert are easily deceived by those girls."
Daisy and Herb exchanged glances, and they had to admit that Nia's words made a lot of sense.
Albert had no idea that his parents had leaked his relationship with a girlfriend to Nia.
At this moment, Albert is looking around, searching for the House-elf who have hidden themselves.
Since the Malfoy family's House-elf were able to accurately block Harry outside the station, they must have been lying in ambush at the station entrance beforehand.
Actually, Albert's situation was quite coincidental; it's probably only in the plot of a novel that everything could happen by chance.
However, the House-elf remained hidden until Albert pushed his luggage through the wall separating platforms 9 and 10 and appeared on Platform 9 3/4.
A scarlet steam locomotive was puffing out smoke, and there were many male and female wizard on the platform seeing their children off onto the train.
As Albert pushed his luggage across the platform, he noticed something that made him unhappy.
Many wizards on the platform turned their heads to stare at him curiously, and a few even pointed at him, shouting something, making Albert feel like a precious panda in a zoo.
The title of International Wizard's Chess Champion proved more troublesome than Albert had anticipated, and he finally experienced the treatment Harry Potter received.
Honestly, standing under a bright spotlight is a really awful feeling.
Albert quickened his pace unconsciously, pushing his luggage into the carriage, but the situation did not improve. Many people leaned out of the carriage just to catch a glimpse of him, while many others paced back and forth outside his carriage. One bold girl even tried to come over and ask Albert to join her, but he politely declined, saying that there were already people in his carriage.
"Sorry, I have a girlfriend!"
Seeing that persistent girl, Albert had no choice but to unleash his ultimate weapon to make them back down.
"Excuse me, could you move aside?"
A familiar voice rang out outside the carriage. Lee Jordan, wearing a hat, pushed through the crowded throng and, amidst the astonished gazes of the many girls, entered the carriage they so longed to be in, then slammed the carriage door shut behind him.
"Congratulations, our youngest International Wizard's Chess Champion." Seeing the helplessness on Albert's face, Lee Jordan couldn't help but chuckle, "I didn't even need to look for you just now, I knew where you were."
"How was your summer vacation?" Albert changed the subject.
"You're definitely not as interesting as me. Fred and George said you were going to United States, but you went to France and won the International Wizard's Chess Champion. To be honest, I was really surprised when I saw your news in the newspaper." Lee Jordan waved to the girls outside and asked with a smile, "How does it feel to be surrounded by a bunch of girls?"
"Don't be silly, they only like me because I'm famous." Albert didn't care about Lee Jordan's teasing at all.
"What's wrong with being famous! I also want to be the International Wizard's Chess Champion. So many people dream of it, so stop complaining about it." Lee Jordan's envy suddenly vanished. "By the way, we can collaborate and sell your photos or autographs. I think those girls would definitely be willing to pay a high price for them."
"If you dare do that, I dare hang you on the spire of Hogwarts," Albert said with a grin.
"Don't be angry, I was just joking." Lee Jordan coughed and quickly changed the subject, "By the way, where's your fat cat?"
"I didn't bring it," Albert said in a low voice. "Something bad might happen this semester, so I'm not planning to bring it to school."
"Something not so good."
"I don't know," Albert shook his head. "However, I have a feeling it's probably related to Potter."
"Why don't you mention it has something to do with our new Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor? Speaking of which, this semester's Defence Against the Dark Arts Textbook is outrageously expensive." Lee Jordan picked up the book "Gadding with Ghouls" in front of Albert and couldn't help but complain, "I really don't know what they're thinking, nearly forty Galleon."
"That's exactly what I think."
"No way!" Lee Jordan immediately understood the implication in Albert's words. "If that's the case, why would Dumbledore choose someone like that as a professor?"
"Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor aren't easy to find," Albert cautioned. "Especially after Quirrell died in the dungeon last semester, I doubt anyone would be willing to try out the power of that cursed position."
"Even if we really can't find anyone, we can't do it like this!" Lee Jordan complained.
"Dumbledore must have his reasons for doing this," Albert speculated.
"The Fred family is in trouble," Lee Jordan muttered. "It's about 150 Galleon. Even if they buy all the books secondhand, it will still cost a lot of money. Besides, Lockhart's secondhand books are hard to find."
"They also have a younger sister who's going to Hogwarts this year," Albert corrected.
"I'm suddenly very curious to see how Fred and George will view Lockhart."
"They'll probably feel sorry for Lockhart!"
"I thought so too." Lee Jordan glanced at Albert furtively and suddenly felt that Lockhart was really unlucky.
