Yan initially appears alongside A-Zhui and Moi to investigate Ye Chen, whom A-Zhui has become interested in. She quickly recognizes A-Zhui's feelings and openly teases her, while judging Ye Chen as interesting but too weak and short-lived to easily marry her sister. 13

When A-Zhui faces danger from Demon Queen Morgana near the Yanhuang Empire, Yan immediately mobilizes Moi and Ningxin to support her. She regards Morgana as an opponent beyond what A-Zhui and the empire can handle alone. 103

After Kesha's fall, Yan receives direct authority over the Angel Legion and its affiliated civilizations, but many older Angels refuse to recognize a seven-thousand-year-old successor without accomplishments.
