Background / History

The empire began as a small North American state with fewer than one million people and territory amounting to roughly one percent of the continent. Ye Chen used force to suppress early opposition, then relied on the passing of the older generation and the education of later generations to consolidate a shared imperial identity. 6 11

By Yanhuang Calendar year 124, the empire had completed its education system and launched a national campaign that placed graduates in teaching posts throughout the country. Provincial officials were stationed in cities to protect the program. 5 The first generation of educated citizens supplied the Imperial Academy of Sciences and became the basis for later industrialization. 7

Twenty years later, the empire had reached a population of 23 million and entered its first industrial revolution. Railways, expanded roads, electrical technology, newspapers, automobiles, and aircraft connected its territory and accelerated both commerce and territorial development. 7 9 Its population later rose to 260 million. 10

After decades of preparation, the empire began overseas conquest. It attacked the Holy Land Andes and Inca regions, expanded through Africa, incorporated Europe, and accepted the submission of several Eurasian states. Zhu Cilang's abdication as New Ming Emperor gave Ye Chen a politically useful route to take control of China. 23 28 40 42 The defeat of the Great Qing completed Blue Star's unification. 43

Following unification, the capital was moved from Xuanhuang City in North America to Chang'an, while the former capital became the old capital. 43 44 A ritual in Chang'an strengthened the empire's legitimacy and triggered a connection to the Yanhuang Civilization inheritance system. 45 47
