Background / History

Ziji found Su Chen near death after his body was catastrophically damaged. Using rare Dragon Blood Crystals—some containing traces of true dragon blood—she sealed him within a crystal and continuously supplied Soul Power to reconstruct his body. The process was expected to require up to a decade, but Su Chen regained consciousness after roughly a year and eventually completed his recovery after more than two years. 39 41 53

During Su Chen's recovery, Ziji rejected Di Tian's proposal that they unite to produce powerful Dragon Clan offspring. She considered his view of her as a reproductive tool insulting and left his cave in anger. Her later conversation with Su Chen about human relationships began their closer companionship. 40

Ziji prepared to cross the hundred-thousand-year Heavenly Tribulation in the Dragon Clan burial ground. Although she initially considered redirecting the tribulation onto Su Chen through “hiding the heavens by crossing the sea,” Su Chen supported her despite the danger. During the tribulation, Su Chen, Ziji, and the eggs Little Black and Little White were transported to the Underworld. 53 54

Within King Equality's palace, Ziji resonated with the statue's power and absorbed its remaining divine power. She survived her tribulation, attained hundred-thousand-year cultivation, and evolved into the Hell Demon Dragon King. A new statue in her likeness replaced King Equality's destroyed statue. 55 56

After returning to the Dragon Clan, Ziji defended Su Chen when Di Tian attempted to kill him over their Soul Contract. Di Tian ultimately expelled both of them from the Dragon Clan; Su Chen answered by challenging him to a battle in one hundred years. 59

Appearance

Ziji can appear as either a massive purple dragon or a human-like woman. Her human form is not a human re-cultivation transformation, but the transformed body of a Ferocious Beast. 56 108

Personality

Ziji is fiercely independent and places great value on freedom, strength, and the ability to choose her own path. She rejected Di Tian despite the cultivation benefits and status that joining him could have offered, objecting to his attempt to reduce their relationship to bloodline and offspring. 40

She is proud, blunt, and often willful around humans, especially when confronting people she considers weak or hypocritical. However, she can recognize integrity: Shui Qingxuan's refusal to treat Su Chen as Ziji's possession earned Ziji's respect and a valuable Dragon Scale. 63

Her bond with Su Chen gradually makes her more protective and emotionally open. She saves him, remains wary of people from his past, supports his travels, and stands against Di Tian to protect him. 39 51 59 61
