Background / History
Tang Hao is a renowned Clear Sky Sect powerhouse whose combat ability is described as terrifying despite his Soul Power not being exceptionally high. Su Chen considers him dangerous enough to avoid provoking, noting that even Ziji lacks confidence in defeating him. 74
He is Ah Yin's husband and Tang San's father. Ah Yin's Seed of Life was hidden behind Holy Soul Village under a restriction that could not be broken below Rank 90; Su Chen stole it, placing Tang Hao's wife in enemy hands. 95 97
After Tang San's defeat by Su Chen and Xiao Wu's death, Tang Hao trains his son to seek revenge. He teaches Tang San the Clear Sky Sect's Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer and urges him to improve the purity and control of his power. 97 98
Personality
Tang Hao is fiercely proud of the Clear Sky Hammer and his own mastery of it, meeting Bibi Dong's attacks without fear even when facing a planned three-on-one assassination. 111
He is deeply devoted to Tang San and Ah Yin. While suppressing the evil influence within himself, he devotes himself to Tang San's training and places his hopes for vengeance and Ah Yin's recovery on his son. 97
His hatred of Spirit Hall drives him to destroy its branch halls indiscriminately. In combat, he remains defiant even when gravely wounded and outnumbered. 111 112
Abilities & Skills
Clear Sky Hammer
Tang Hao wields the Clear Sky Hammer, an ultimate offensive tool Martial Soul recognized for overwhelming destructive power. His practical combat strength exceeds that of an ordinary Titled Douluo, supported by Clear Sky Sect secret techniques and extensive battle experience. 74 111
- His First Soul Skill enlarges the Clear Sky Hammer for greater striking power. 111
- He is regarded as the strongest active wielder of the Clear Sky Hammer. 111
- His combat style prioritizes direct destruction and head-on clashes over recovery or prolonged defense. 111 112
Haotian's Shield
Tang Hao can release a large protective barrier centered on himself, using it to blast apart restraints such as Bibi Dong's Death Spiderweb Restraint. 111
- The shield withstands powerful attacks, including an enhanced spiderweb capable of briefly restraining a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast. 111
- Its defense works in successive waves; consecutive high-level attacks can destabilize and break it. 111
- The barrier is ultimately overwhelmed by Chrysanthemum Douluo's and Ghost Douluo's Ninth Soul Skills. 111
Haotian's World-Shaking Strike
Tang Hao's Ninth Soul Skill manifests a hammer phantom capable of splitting heaven and earth. He uses it to counter Bibi Dong's Space-Rending Abyss Slash. 112
- It is his strongest documented soul skill. 112
- The skill is used as a direct response to Bibi Dong's spatial attack, which is difficult to evade due to its distorted trajectory. 112
Clear Sky Sect Secret Arts
Tang Hao possesses the Clear Sky Sect's secret techniques and teaches Tang San its Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer. 97 111
- Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer — A stacking hammer technique in which each strike grows stronger than the last. 97
- The technique can accumulate up to eighty-one strikes; at perfection, its force is said to rival a full-power attack even without Soul Power. 97
- Its escalating force demands exceptional physical endurance and precise control. 97
God of Evil's Corruption
The God of Evil leaves taboo divine power within Tang Hao without his consent. When Tang Hao suffers severe injuries, the evil intent takes control of his body. 113
- The black aura raises his combat strength even while his wounds continue to fester. 113
- Continued exposure gradually corrodes his consciousness and risks turning him into a puppet. 113
- The power is distinct from the Clear Sky Hammer and is recognized by Bibi Dong as divine power. 112 113
Relationships
- Tang San — His son. Tang Hao trains him in Clear Sky Sect techniques, encourages his revenge against Su Chen, and sends him to bring former subordinate forces under his command. 97 98 116
- Ah Yin — His wife and Tang San's mother. Her Seed of Life is concealed behind Holy Soul Village, and her disappearance fuels Tang Hao's hostility toward Spirit Hall. 95 111
- Bibi Dong — Mortal enemy. Bibi Dong ambushes him with Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo after he attacks Spirit Hall branch halls. 111 112
- Chrysanthemum Douluo — Enemy combatant who supports Bibi Dong by using his Ninth Soul Skill to weaken Tang Hao's defenses. 111
- Ghost Douluo — Enemy combatant whose Ninth Soul Skill inflicts severe wounds after Tang Hao's defenses are compromised. 111
- God of Evil — An unwanted corrupting influence that implanted divine power within Tang Hao and seizes control when he is badly injured. 113
Story Role / Major Arcs
Threat Behind Tang San
Su Chen identifies Tang Hao as the dangerous backing behind Tang San and avoids directly provoking the Tang father and son while Tang Hao remains a potential threat. 74
Ah Yin's Seed of Life
Su Chen finds and steals Ah Yin's Seed of Life from Tang Hao's hidden location near Holy Soul Village. The theft gives Su Chen leverage against the Tang family and leaves Tang Hao vulnerable to manipulation through his wife. 95 97
Tang San's Training
Tang Hao trains Tang San in Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer, helping him master the technique at an unprecedented pace. He continues pushing Tang San to grow stronger after Su Chen's victory over the Shrek team. 97 98
Battle at the Spirit Hall Branch
Tang Hao's attacks on Spirit Hall branch halls draw Bibi Dong into a prepared killing ground. Bibi Dong opens with Death Spiderweb Restraint, while Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo target the weaknesses of Tang Hao's defensive barrier with their Ninth Soul Skills. 111
Though badly injured, Tang Hao counters Bibi Dong's Space-Rending Abyss Slash with Haotian's World-Shaking Strike. Bibi Dong then uses two Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Bones to freeze time and space around him and intensify gravity, leaving him severely wounded. 112
Emergence of Divine Power
At the brink of defeat, black aura erupts from Tang Hao's body. It is revealed to be the God of Evil's implanted power, which enhances his strength at the cost of progressively corrupting his mind and autonomy. 112 113
Trivia
- Tang Hao took a full year to learn Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer, a performance considered unmatched among his peers at the time. 97
- Fewer than ten Clear Sky Sect members are said to have mastered all eighty-one strikes of Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer. 97
- Despite being Titled Douluo, Tang Hao is considered a particularly poor matchup for Dugu Bo because the Clear Sky Hammer excels in direct combat while Dugu Bo's Martial Soul does not. 97
