Allen sat there in a daze, his expression vacant. It was as if the entire world had been muted, and no sound could reach his ears anymore. The cavalrymen fighting the Undead Skeletons not far away wore expressions even more ferocious than the skeletons themselves.

Xiulunte stood in the distance, gasping for breath as he watched him. The two ascetics were also staring at him coldly, their shriveled lips moving as though chanting some spell.

A Knight Greatsword came slashing down at Allen's head. Allen ignored it completely, as if he had lost his soul. He neither dodged nor fought back.

The greatsword struck Allen's shoulder. If he had not used the Evil Dragon Egg before, his entire arm might have been severed instead of merely spraying a little blood.

Feeling the pain in his shoulder, Allen slowly rose to his feet and threw a punch at the knight who had attacked him.

The knight raised his sword in both hands to block, but Allen's punch shattered the greatsword and continued onward without losing momentum.

The ambushing knight's head, helmet and all, burst like a smashed watermelon. His lifeless body fell backward onto the ground.

With no expression on his face, Allen looked toward Xiulunte. At that moment, the sounds he hated so much returned to his ears—the sounds of blades cutting into flesh and bone, people falling and wailing, blood spraying through the air.

Xiulunte frowned as he looked at Allen in the distance.

Allen's utterly emotionless gaze instinctively made him feel a tremendous sense of danger.

The two ascetics finally finished their incantation. Dozens of arrows formed from fire elements shot toward Allen.

Uncle Karmet and Brother Sali rushed out of the Old Castle and took up positions on Allen's left and right.
