Looking at the "Fierce Treasure" in the panda's hands—a clod of dirt as big as a washbasin—Allen felt utterly crushed, helpless, and on the verge of tears.
Dina seemed not to notice Second Young Master's miserable expression and said in surprise, "They're so smart."
Allen rolled his eyes.
Annoyed, Allen crouched on the tree and started looking for something handy to drive away the pandas below. Though he knew the idea was unrealistic, with his personality of always taking advantage and never accepting a loss, there was no way he would just squat in the tree and wait to be beaten.
"Second Young Master, how about we go down and teach them a lesson?" Dina suggested. "They're just a little bigger. Are you scared?"
Allen ignored her. He felt that their intelligence levels simply made communication impossible.
Those fellows were nearly as big as Templar Knights, especially with those sharp claws. One or two would have been manageable, but there were so many of them. One casual swipe would probably leave the two of them disemboweled.
Allen had considered throwing out the Dragon Slaying Halberd, but he could not bear to part with it. Besides, if he really enraged those fellows, things would get troublesome.
Other than a few leaves swaying in the breeze, the branches bore a kind of fruit he had never seen before. They were bright red, each as large as a human head, hanging beneath the branches in clusters of two or three.
Not caring what kind of fruit it was, Allen reached out and gave one a hard tug. It did not budge.
He had not expected the thing to be so sturdy. He could only wrap both legs around a fork in the branches, secure himself, then slowly embrace one fruit with both arms.
