Army Reorganization

After the dock cranes began to be put into use, Victor didn't delay for too long. He arranged for Powell to get the armory's factory buildings by the river built as soon as possible so the armory could start working normally.

He assigned three tasks to the armory's master craftsman. The first was to continue improving and producing dock cranes to increase the efficiency of loading and unloading cargo. The second was to produce a batch of iron arrowheads suitable for the Armor-Piercing Crossbow, as it was a waste to use Armor-Piercing Arrows on Barbarians. The third was to upgrade the tools for the brick factory and charcoal factory, especially the brick-making machines, to create a machine that anyone could operate independently, allowing even young children to work.

After finishing these tasks, Victor went directly to Captain Jack and told him the importance of the goods being transported back, emphasizing that they must be delivered to the former Baron Wembley immediately, along with his letter.

He also found James. Victor proactively offered to assign the two newly added cargo ships to James's fleet, which would return to the Blue Rose Territory together, bringing over the remaining supplies and serfs.

Victor also requested simple reports from the other stewards. Based on the construction progress of each project, Victor gave them new work requirements, and demanded that after this new batch of supplies arrived, work progress must be increased to ensure the goals were met before winter.

By the time Victor finished dealing with these miscellaneous matters, two days had passed. Captain Jack had already left with the fleet, completing the last transportation mission before winter.

Victor formally convened a military reorganization meeting, summoning all current military commanders of the territory. He presented the plan for adjusting the army's structure, which had been formulated by Number 1 using the calculation module, as well as the flag language textbook and the expansion war reward plan, for on-site review, and asked everyone to provide suggestions for revision.

Regarding the flag language textbook, several people had no opinions, as they were not professionals. Victor's textbook seemed very feasible and not complicated, greatly aiding in military command and information transmission.

"Since there are no objections to this textbook, everyone will take one back to study. As commanders, you must understand the meaning of each flag language movement. I will test you later, and those who fail will have their salary suspended for one month."

James and Ron immediately sighed, while Santos, Jack, and Jackson stated they would learn it as quickly as possible.

Victor remained noncommittal. Regardless, he would deduct money if he said he would. James and his troops had been fighting for Victor, so Victor had always borne the maintenance and logistics costs for his army and paid James a salary, which was why James hadn't returned to his own territory.

As for the expansion war reward plan, it was to reward the military merits gained by all officers leading their troops to victory during this period, and also because the Two Rivers Territory would be involved in frequent battles in the future, a sustainable reward plan was established.

The plan was relatively simple. The territory's pure professional soldiers had already reached a scale of 1,000. With a certain number of auxiliaries, a standard regiment could be established.

Victor believed that this unit should establish a regimental headquarters that met the actual needs of the regiment. Victor directly appointed himself as the regimental commander and Ron as the deputy regimental commander, who was also the commander of the first detachment of light cavalry.

This regiment, named the First Regiment of the Two Rivers Territory by Victor, would have four combat detachments and one logistics detachment under its command: the First Cavalry Detachment, commanded by Ron, with Jackson as deputy commander, comprising 4 cavalry companies. Each company would have 100 men, including 50 regular army squads and 50 barbarian light cavalry or mounted auxiliary squads. Squads would be organized into platoons of 10 men, with one appointed as squad leader. Each squad would have two standard bearers and two orderlies; the Second Cavalry Detachment, commanded by James, with Jack as deputy commander, would have a similar structure to the First Cavalry Detachment, but two of its companies would be composed of 50 mail-clad cavalry and 50 Iron Knights heavy cavalry; the First Infantry Detachment, commanded by Santos, with Solon (recommended by Santos, former captain of spearmen) as deputy commander, would have four infantry companies. Each company would have 100 men, also composed of 50 regulars and 50 auxiliaries, with two spearmen companies and two archer companies; the Second Infantry Detachment, temporarily commanded by Victor, with Fola (recommended by Santos, former captain of crossbowmen) as deputy commander, would have four companies, consisting of two spearmen companies and two crossbowmen companies.

The logistics detachment would have three companies: the supply convoy, responsible for transporting food, weapons, armor, and other supplies, with 200 personnel; the medical team, including army doctors and assisting medical soldiers, responsible for battlefield rescue, with approximately 100 personnel; and the engineering team, responsible for building and maintaining defensive fortifications, with 200 personnel.

At the same time, Victor incorporated his personal Guard Squad into the regimental headquarters, making it a standing force of the regiment.

This reorganization plan might have some negative impacts on the existing army temporarily, weakening its combat effectiveness during the reorganization process. However, Victor also believed that once the reorganization was completed and the soldiers adapted, their combat effectiveness would surely improve after a period of training.

After everyone expressed no objections to this plan, Victor directly decided to hold a commendation ceremony in three days, on October 9th, and announce the reorganization plan.
