After seeing that both men were in good condition, Victor gave the order for the army to make camp where they stood.
James and Ron had already led the prisoners of war to clear out an area suitable for camping.
Victor informed every unit to eat dinner immediately and rest early. They would set out again at midnight.
At first, the Eastern nobles were all surprised to hear that they would be marching in the middle of the night. They went to Victor together to ask about it.
Victor explained that they did not need to take part in this battle and could join entirely of their own free will. He would also leave part of the army behind at the camp.
However, for the sake of military merit, those nobles still decided to participate in the night raid. To do so, they had to select qualified soldiers from their own forces.
They hurried back to their units to make preparations.
Afterward, Victor spoke privately with James and Ron for a while, asking about what had happened after the battle against the Fourth Legion reinforcements.
"So you've already wiped out the remnant force you had trapped on Jade Belt Mountain?"
James nodded. After speaking, he pointed toward the camp gate. "Look over there."
Only then did Victor notice the direction James was pointing. There was a tall wooden post by the camp entrance, with something seemingly hanging from its very top.
It was close to evening, and the light was poor. Victor could not see clearly, so with a thought, he used Perception Enhancement.
Victor's body trembled slightly. He fixed his gaze on the top of the wooden post, and his vision became clearer and clearer until he finally saw what was hanging there.
"Damn it, James, you bastard!"
Victor
