Ch. 237Three Demons of Xuanyuan's Tomb

  • The Nine-tailed Celestial Fox warned that Di Xin's Human Sovereign's Fortune could destroy them, but Shen Gongbao said their years at Xuanyuan's Tomb had protected them and invoked the Saint's decree.
  • After Shen Gongbao left, the Nine-headed Pheasant Spirit and Jade Pipa Spirit cursed him and questioned the order, saying Di Xin was a benevolent ruler who loved the Queen.
  • The Nine-tailed Celestial Fox admitted she knew the accusations were false but feared that refusing the Saint's decree would doom all three sisters.

Ch. 238North Sea Falls, Di Xin: If I Issue a Tui En Ling, Won't You Lords Explode?

The Three Demons of Xuanyuan's Tomb struggled to find a way into Chaoge, while Great Shang’s success in the North Sea expanded its territory and unsettled other lords. After reading reports of their growing ambitions, Di Xin announced he had nine ways to deal with them.

  • The Nine-tailed Celestial Fox led her sisters toward Chaoge, deciding to wait for an opportunity to enter despite the danger that the city’s restriction posed to demons.
  • After Yuan Futong and the other northern rebels surrendered, Great Shang incorporated their marquisates and distributed food, clothing, and shelter to its subjects.
  • Great Shang offered North Sea residents citizenship and its benefits, and its soldiers destroyed ten marquisates that tried to stop people from leaving.
  • Many North Sea lords surrendered their lands voluntarily, and by spring of Di Xin’s Eighth Year, Great Shang controlled two-thirds of the North Sea.

Ch. 239The Feudal Lords Pay Homage, Di Xin: Wen Zhong, Do You Want a Disciple?

  • Jiang Hengchu dismissed Jiang Wenhuan's suggestion to resist and ordered Eastern Lu to prepare tribute and travel to Shang in ten days.
  • Ji Chang rejected Ji Fa's call to attack Shang, divined a hexagram that foretold imprisonment without danger to life, and ordered Xi Qi to prepare tribute.
  • Di Xin summoned Wen Zhong and asked him whether he wanted a disciple.

Ch. 240Intercepting Lei Zhenzi; Yun Zhongzi Mistakes Wen Zhong for Ji Chang

Di Xin arranged for Wen Zhong to claim Lei Zhenzi, an Innate Being born from Nine Heavens Thunder, as his disciple. At Yan Mountain, Ji Chang mistook the infant for his destined son, but Wen Zhong took him first, and Yun Zhongzi then mistook Wen Zhong for Ji Chang.

  • Di Xin told Wen Zhong that a child born from Nine Heavens Thunder would appear at Yan Mountain and ordered him to wait there and bring the child back.
  • Wen Zhong agreed to take the child as his disciple and pledged to cultivate him into a pillar of Great Shang.
  • As Ji Chang’s caravan reached Yan Mountain, Nine Heavens Thunder brought an infant down from the sky, and Ji Chang tried to claim him as his one hundred and eighth son.
  • Wen Zhong intercepted the infant before he reached Ji Chang, and Ji Chang conceded that the child was no longer his to claim.
  • Yun Zhongzi arrived, mistook Wen Zhong for Ji Chang, and said the Heavenly Dao had named Ji Chang’s hundredth son as his destined disciple.
  • Wen Zhong introduced himself to Yun Zhongzi as a disciple of Jie Sect and greeted him as Martial Uncle.

Ch. 241Reward: Saint-Level Method! Bestowing the Name Lei Zhenzi

Wen Zhong refused Yun Zhongzi’s attempt to take the child nurtured by Nine Heavens Divine Thunder and brought the infant to Chaoge. Di Xin rewarded the successful choice mission with a Saint-level Thunder Dao method and named the child Lei Zhenzi.

  • Yun Zhongzi offered Wen Zhong ten Postnatal Middle Grade Spiritual Treasures for the child, but Wen Zhong refused and warned him not to act rashly because Holy Mother Jin Ling was his teacher.
  • Yun Zhongzi erased the Xi Qi Caravan’s memories of Yan Mountain, but Wen Zhong still refused to trade the child, so Yun Zhongzi left empty-handed.
  • Wen Zhong told Ji Chang to continue on to Chaoge, then carried the child toward the capital on his Ink Kirin.
  • Di Xin received a system notification awarding him the Nine Heavens Thunderclap Puhua True Scripture after Wen Zhong secured the child.
  • Wen Zhong presented the infant to Di Xin and asked him to bestow a name, and Di Xin named the child Lei Zhenzi.

When the feudal lords gathered at the palace to see the Great King, Fei Zhong and You Hun demanded bribes before allowing them in, but Su Hu refused to pay and challenged them to stop him.

  • Di Xin gave Wen Zhong the Nine Heavens Thunderclap Puhua True Scripture and instructed him to cultivate it and teach Lei Zhenzi.
  • The feudal lords gathered outside the Royal Palace in Chaoge to pay court to the Great King.
  • Fei Zhong and You Hun claimed the Great King was occupied with state affairs and used the delay to solicit bribes from the feudal lords.
  • Xi Qi paid Fei Zhong and You Hun One Hundred Million Zhu Coins, and the four great marquises each paid the same amount.
  • Fei Zhong told Jiang Hengchu that Queen Mother had already authorized him to enter, but Jiang Hengchu still handed over his bribe.
  • Su Hu refused to pay Fei Zhong and You Hun and declared that he would enter the palace anyway.

Ch. 243Forcing Su Hu to Rebel—If He Dared Rebel, He Dared Be Destroyed!

Fei Zhong and You Hun tried to provoke Su Hu into rebelling against Great Shang, then proposed that Su Daji be offered to Di Xin as a consort. At the royal banquet, they urged Di Xin to take more consorts and secure the dynasty’s succession.

  • Su Hu cursed Fei Zhong and You Hun for demanding a bribe, then entered the palace without paying them.
  • Fei Zhong and You Hun plotted to anger Su Hu further by proposing that he offer his beloved daughter Su Daji to Di Xin.
  • The chapter revealed that Di Xin intended to seize Jizhou by provoking Su Hu into rebelling and giving Great Shang a pretext to attack.
  • At Xianqing Hall, Di Xin received the feudal lords’ tribute and hosted a banquet attended by nobles and officials.

  • Wen Zhong and the ministers supported Fei Zhong and You Hun’s proposal that Di Xin take consorts and continue his bloodline.
  • Di Xin asked whose daughter should enter the palace, and Fei Zhong recommended Su Hu’s sixteen-year-old daughter.
  • Su Hu protested that Fei Zhong and You Hun were dragging his daughter into their private grudge, while You Hun accused him of disrespecting the Human Sovereign.
  • Su Hu claimed his daughter was frail and unlucky, but Di Xin offered to have palace Shamanic Doctors—or the Earthly Emperor—treat her.
  • Moved by Di Xin’s offer, Su Hu knelt to thank the King and promised to prepare his daughter’s dowry and escort her to the palace.
  • Di Xin was baffled by Su Hu’s unexpected agreement, and the system appeared with a new set of choices.

Ch. 245Ji Chang: Yuan Futong, You're Not Dead?!

Di Xin accepted Su Hu’s offer to marry Su Daji and then had Chong Houhu accuse Ji Chang of aiding Yuan Futong’s rebellion. Yuan Futong presented letters linking Xi Qi to the rebels, and Di Xin ordered Ji Chang imprisoned in Youli while he investigated.

  • Di Xin chose to accept Su Hu’s offer and arranged to await Su Daji’s arrival, leaving Fei Zhong and You Hun dismayed that their plan had failed.
  • Di Xin signaled Chong Houhu, who accused Ji Chang of supplying weapons to Yuan Futong and called for his arrest.
  • Ji Chang denied the accusation as the Western lords and some others pleaded for him, while Ji Chang privately feared their support would worsen his position.
  • Yuan Futong appeared alive, explained that Di Xin had pardoned him, and presented Bamboo Slips containing letters about Xi Qi’s aid to his rebellion.
  • Ji Chang denied exchanging letters with Yuan Futong and suggested someone under his rule had acted for profit, so Di Xin ordered him sent to Youli pending an investigation.

Ch. 246Tui En Ling Appears, the Feudal Lords Are Terrified!

After Ji Chang was imprisoned in Youli, Di Xin used an elderly feudal lord’s family succession worries to announce the Tui En Ling, which would divide vassal territories among their sons and bring new marquises under the central court. The feudal lords were shaken by the decree, and Marquis of Liang became the first to pledge obedience.

  • Royal Palace guards took Ji Chang to Youli and placed him under strict guard, leaving San Yisheng, Nangong Shi, and the other ministers anxious at the banquet.
  • The eighty-year-old Marquis of Liang knelt before Di Xin and asked for his sons to receive portions of his state as marquisates.
  • Wen Zhong endorsed the proposal, and Di Xin announced the Tui En Ling, granting fiefs to every son of a feudal lord while requiring the eldest son to share half the territory with his brothers.
  • The feudal lords protested, but Wen Zhong silenced them, and Di Xin threatened to strip any lord who defied the decree of his title and fief.
  • Attendants distributed Bamboo Slips detailing the decree, and Marquis of Liang knelt again and volunteered to implement it first.

Ch. 247Most Loyal Supporters of the Tui En Ling—Sons of the Feudal Lords! Su Daji of Jizhou

After the Tui En Ling divided the feudal lords’ lands among their children, the new policy won support from their younger sons while causing conflict in some states. In Jizhou, Su Hu prepared to send Su Daji to marry Di Xin, and Daji learned that she would become the Sacred Lord’s consort.

  • After the ancestral rites ended, the Human Sovereign Edict announcing the Tui En Ling reached the feudal states.
  • In Xi Qi, Bo Yikao accepted his appointment as Marquis of the West and the division of Xi Qi’s territory among Ji Chang’s sons.

  • Su Daji’s attendant told her that Su Hu truly intended to marry her to the Sacred Lord, and Daji thought about her coming marriage.

Ch. 248Su Daji, Born with Enchanting Bones

Su Daji learned that she would marry Di Xin and eagerly accepted the plan to feign illness before going to Chaoge. In the royal palace, Jiang Zitong approved Huang Feiyan’s marriage to Di Xin alongside Su Daji, leaving Di Xin and Jiang Zitong together after Huang Feihu departed.

  • Xiao Hong told Su Daji that the Marquis planned to send her to Chaoge as Di Xin’s bride, but she would need to appear mildly ill to preserve the Marquis’s earlier claim that she was frail.
  • Su Daji welcomed the prospect of marrying Di Xin, defended Queen Jiang against Xiao Hong’s worries, and blushed as she imagined meeting the Great King.
  • Huang Feihu begged Di Xin to take his younger sister Huang Feiyan as a consort, explaining that she admired the Great King and had urged him to make the request.
  • Jiang Zitong arrived at the Government Affairs Hall and announced that Huang Feiyan and the daughter of the Marquis of Jizhou would marry Di Xin together as Princess Consorts.

The Three Demons of Xuanyuan's Tomb continued their plan to bring Su Daji to Chaoge, despite a warning from Master Cangwu, one of Cangyuan's World Incarnations. Su Hu's wedding procession arrived in Chaoge, where the demons feared the city's Demon Detection Restriction.

  • Su Daji sensed that someone had watched the three demons, but she could not detect Master Cangwu and feared the observer was far stronger than them.
  • Master Cangwu watched over the demons and left them alive, while his warning kept the Nine-tailed Celestial Fox on edge through the night.
  • The Nine-tailed Celestial Fox let the real Su Daji control her body so she could explain her alluring appearance to Su Hu and Su Quanzhong.
  • After ten days of travel, Su Hu's procession reached Chaoge, where Wen Zhong and Shang Rong welcomed him and the city celebrated the arrival.
  • Inside the carriage, the three demons worried aloud about whether they could pass Chaoge's Demon Detection Restriction.
