Arc 21Konoha Unifies the Shinobi World

Fugaku and Konoha’s allies defeated the Land of Earth, the Land of Wind, and the Land of Lightning, bringing the Shinobi World under Konoha’s control. As Kawafune’s plans for unification took shape, Tsunade resigned, leaving Nawaki and Minato tied as candidates for the next Hokage.

  • Fugaku awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan, and he and Might Duy defeated Ōnoki before Konoha occupied the Land of Earth and secured its surrender.
  • Yahiko’s delegation arrived in Konoha, reunited with their old friends, and agreed to join Konoha’s campaigns against the Land of Wind and the Land of Lightning.
  • Nawaki’s forces entered Sunagakure after Rasa ordered an unconditional surrender, and the Land of Wind submitted to the Land of Fire.
  • Minato, Nagato, Yahiko, and their allies defeated Kumogakure, killing Fourth Raikage A, Third Raikage A, and Killer B before the Land of Lightning surrendered.
  • After the war ended, Tsunade honored the fallen, and Kawafune presented a Five-Year Plan to govern and modernize the unified Shinobi World.
  • Kawafune established a Kekkei Genkai class for thirty students, including Mei Terumi and Kaguya Rinnosuke, and arranged for Orochimaru to examine Rinnosuke’s fatal illness.
  • A year later, Tsunade resigned as Hokage, and a vote left Nawaki and Minato tied for first place in the election to choose her successor.

Arc 22Madara’s Return

After Minato became Hokage and Konoha’s families grew, Madara was revived and began capturing the Tailed Beasts to carry out the Eye of the Moon Plan. Konoha revived Hashirama, Mito, and Tobirama and sent teams to protect the beasts, with one team securing Kokuō as the hunt continued.

  • Minato defeated Nawaki by one vote, became Hokage, married Kushina, and later welcomed Naruto as their son.
  • Kawafune and Tsunade helped the Hyuga Clan abolish its main and branch family division, while Kawafune gathered tailed beast samples for Orochimaru’s research.
  • After graves were robbed across the Shinobi World, Kawafune warned Konoha that Madara was returning, and Madara revived himself and attacked Nagato.
  • Madara forced Nagato to use Rinne Rebirth, killing him and restoring Madara to life, while Kawafune stopped Nonō from taking her own life and promised Nagato could be revived.
  • Madara sealed the Eight-Tails and dispatched reincarnated fighters to capture more Tailed Beasts, prompting Minato to mobilize Konoha and revive Hashirama, Mito, and Tobirama.
  • Kawafune explained Madara’s plan to revive the Divine Tree and ensnare the world in an illusion, and Minato sent shinobi teams to protect the Tailed Beasts.
  • Tsunade, Orochimaru, Jiraiya, and Fugaku defeated Chiyo, Hanzō, Kinkaku, and Ginkaku, sealed the brothers, and brought Kokuō safely into a sealing jar.
  • Hashirama subdued the Two-Tails while Mito rebuked Tobirama for underestimating Kinkaku and Ginkaku, and Hiruzen summoned Enma as someone approached.

Arc 23Madara’s Defeat

Kawafune and the allied shinobi fought Madara’s forces, but the battles cost Tsunade her life and allowed Madara to escape. After awakening the All-Killing Ash Bones, Kawafune confronted Madara, defeated him, took his Rinnegan, and carried him toward Konoha.

  • Hashirama, Tobirama, Hiruzen, and Mito fought the First Five Kage, while Madara controlled the First A and Nagato’s body.
  • Nagato summoned the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and tried to capture the Two-Tails, but Kawafune cut the chain and joined the battle.
  • Madara absorbed the Two-Tails, fought Hashirama and Kawafune with the Armored Gedo Susanoo, and later extracted the Seven-Tails, killing Tsunade.
  • Kawafune exposed Black Zetsu’s plan to use Madara to resurrect Otsutsuki Kaguya, but Madara escaped with Black Zetsu after a prolonged fight.
  • Orochimaru revived Tsunade, and Kawafune promised his family that he would revive her and Nagato as the shinobi prepared for Madara’s next attack.
  • Madara raised an army of resurrected Uchiha and other shinobi, but Kawafune destroyed his Susanoo and shattered the meteors he summoned before Madara escaped again.
  • Orochimaru and Tsunade transplanted a replacement spine into Kawafune, awakening his All-Killing Ash Bones.
  • Kawafune tracked Madara to the Demonic Statue, defeated him and his Limbo shadows, removed both Rinnegan intact, and carried him toward Konoha after revealing that he came from Earth.
