Background

Dong Moxuan is a transmigrant who became a death warrior. He retains memories and attitudes from a previous life in which he considered himself a Captain, while his new existence places him on Honkai's side rather than humanity's. 1 14 17

Before arriving in Changkong City, he worked under Cocolia within Anti-Entropy as Zhang Dawei. Cocolia identifies him as her former chief scientist and accuses him of leaking nearly half of Anti-Entropy's core data to Schicksal and World Serpent; Dong later tells Bronya that he had been a spy for The Void Archives. 34 41

He approaches Raiden Mei by claiming to be an acquaintance of her father, Raiden Ryoma. Although Mei initially doubts him, a genuine photograph with Ryoma confirms a connection, and Dong ultimately secures temporary residence in her home through shameless emotional theatrics. 2 3

When Honkai descends on Changkong City, Dong heads to Senba Academy to find Mei. He protects Kiana from Mei's lightning, then calms Mei during her unstable Herrscher awakening by assuring her that he will not abandon her. 22 27 29

After Mei questions whether she can remain with an ordinary human, Dong reveals that he too is a death warrior. Their mutual acceptance resolves Mei's attempt to push him away, and they formally acknowledge their feelings. 37 38 39
