Fairy Hole
The Fairy Hole is essentially what sustains the existence of the Fairy Kingdom.
Although fairies are beings who follow the path of enlightenment, they do not wish to live in the Dream Realm. Instead, they prefer to live in places adjacent to other intelligent life forms.
As the extraordinary beings describe fairies—our kind neighbors. Fairies always like to be neighbors with other creatures.
But they are also very willful... Fairies like to bother people, but hate being bothered. Just like a naughty pet cat, only it can come to you, not the other way around.
Therefore, fairies usually live in the Fairy Kingdom.
This is the liminal space between reality and Dream Realm, a phantom kingdom shaped by the incredible wish-granting power of fairies—one passage connects to the dream realm of the Path of Beauty, and then there are six other passages, representing light, darkness, wind, earth, water, and fire, connecting six areas of the Material Realm to maintain the elemental balance of the Fairy Kingdom.
These six channels can be replaced, but generally they should be laid in areas where the corresponding elemental energy is abundant.
Iver knew the locations of the Fairy Hole with Wind Attribute, Water Attribute, Light Attribute, and Dark Attribute —three of which had been turned into dungeons.
Fairy-themed dungeons are actually quite fun in a way. Because fairies aren't afraid of death, their dungeon mechanics are like playing a game... and in fact, they really are just messing around.
For example, you stand on different squares, each square has a different color, and you have to Time Stop the turntable stops, otherwise you will be lifted into the air by a tornado and fall down and be half dead.
Or you could surf in a water ride and dodge dangerous obstacles by moving left and right, or jump up layer by layer in boiling water that gradually rises in level—you could fall in and get scalded half to death.
This is a classic fairy-themed dungeon, showcasing the personalities of the fairies. The background music is also upbeat, creating a lively festival atmosphere.
Sometimes when Iver got bored while playing dungeons, he would grab a few girls from his friends list who were free and play these dungeons together via voice chat. Everyone would laugh and scream, and it was quite fun.
But even up to Version 6.0, no one ever discovered where the Earth Attribute and Fire Attribute Fairy Hole were located.
Now, half of the mystery has finally been solved.
Near the Fairy Hole of the corresponding element, using spells of the corresponding element may "activate the mechanism" to open the door. There are many similar restrictions; mages can open mechanisms of all four elements.
These Magic Creature and undead living in the swamp must have discovered that there was a continuous flow of power here... so they instinctively gathered here, and in a sense became the fairies' pets, or rather, their watchdogs.
The power of the Path of Beauty that permeates them is the reason why Iver can gain extra experience by killing them.
It was precisely because the Mud Bone Turtle was stuck there that Sherlock, when he first used the spell, mistook the sluggishness he felt for interference from the Mud Bone Turtle.
In retrospect, this swamp should not be directly related to the chaotic timeline and large number of undead in Eagle Cape Village.
But this is very likely the reason why Eagle Cape Village cannot be seen from the outside world! — Although there are no fairies here, it can indeed be considered Fairy Village. The barrier here was indeed set up by the fairies... albeit to protect the fairy cave.
I just don't know whether the villagers of Eagle Cape Village moved here first and then the fairies chose this place... or whether the fairies chose this place first and then a group of people discovered the anomaly here and moved here.
If Iver's side were fully equipped, he would actually be quite willing to jump in and take the adventure.
If you can pass the fairies' test, you will gain their friendship—fairies are very generous to their friends, not only can they call for help when you are in danger, but they also give you the best gifts.
For example, there are legendary fairy paintings or fairy musical scores. There are also some rare extraordinary materials, or equipment that looks very nice. Isabel's favorite, "Lulu's Magic Flute," is an opera written by a fairy Lu Lu Lulu.
The coolest thing is that some fairies, if they get along well with you but don't really have anything to give you, will readily give themselves away as a gift—in a game, this would be a dropped pet; in reality, it would be a summonable creature that can act as a time-space messenger.
He really did give a gift.
He really made me cry my eyes out.
When Isabel advances to the Fifth Level, there is a good advanced class that is related to fairies. Before that, Iver would be better off bringing her there.
However, if you pass through the Fairy Hole without the fairies' permission or their friendship, you are an intruder... It's too difficult to gain the fairies' approval, and it takes a lot of time.
Iver could only make a note of this place for now—this Fairy Hole must be the secret of this swamp.
However, it also means that the anomalies here are not directly related to the village's Twilight Power.
After hearing Iver's explanation of the Fairy Hole, Sherlock felt that he had broadened his horizons.
Where did this wicked Fox hear such secrets from?
Sherlock felt he had read a lot, but compared to Iver, he was still far behind.
"At least we've ruled out one wrong answer."
Sherlock said softly, "If we're certain the swamp isn't related to the anomalies in the village... we should split up and leave now."
He moved his fingers, following Iver's command to cast an Earth Attribute spell once more. While nearly exhausting his Earth Attribute mana, he simultaneously caused the hole to spew out a large amount of mud, filling the swamp once more.
Let's go.
Iver and Sherlock exchanged a glance, then retreated the way they came.
The surrounding White Mist gradually rose again, but the undead had not yet reappeared. Iver needed to conserve some of his mana... He would come back here to grind experience after things were resolved! Even with these few days of exploration, they had already discovered a World Boss in Eagle Cape Village that could at least be leveled up to 60 in the future, as well as an entrance to the Fairy Kingdom.
—In addition, there is the Book of Law that Iver learned from Ms. Mina's prophecy, as well as his grandfather's legacy.
"I must say, your family has a lot of good stuff here."
Iver remarked to Hai Na, "It's a bit dangerous—much more dangerous than Glass Island."
Hai Na was also starting to doubt herself. "Is this really my childhood home...?"
She felt that this was completely different from her childhood experiences.
It was just a beautiful countryside... but after growing up and returning home, everything became so dangerous and thrilling.
Even when they parted ways, Hai Na still couldn't figure it out.
Their exploration didn't seem to take very long. This time wasn't "fast-forwarded"; it was roughly the actual time they spent—just over an hour.
Iver glanced at his pocket watch and realized it was not yet nine o'clock in the morning.
"Shall we go take a bath in the stream?"
He asked Lily.
They now reek of marsh gas. Although their noses have almost gotten used to it, they would probably be immediately spotted if they went directly to the villagers.
Lily shook her head. "Let's just pack up... I'm afraid time will suddenly slip away again."
"Really."
Iver nodded.
So Iver used Sacrificial Fire Method to purify the strong smell of marsh gas on his body, and then used a ritual to cleanse Lily's body as well.
After cleansing their bodies again, they followed the directions given by Hai Na and found the village elder's house.
Although these villagers have no names, they do have "positions" and "identities".
According to Hai Na, there are three elders in Eagle Cape Village.
One was a wealthy country gentleman—though not particularly wealthy or gentlemanly by Iver's standards; the other was the local priest.
The remaining one was Iver's deceased grandfather.
Ready to go home!
I think I'm stuck in traffic!
