Madness (Part One)

Hearing Wei Dengke shout, Mo Li instinctively reached out to grab his hand. But just as he was about to catch it, Wei Dengke's body was suddenly yanked violently into the hole. Mo Li then heard Wei Dengke's scream. Anxious, Mo Li crouched at the entrance and shouted inside, "Glasses! Glasses!"

Unfortunately, Wei Dengke did not respond to Mo Li's calls. His screams grew more and more distant before vanishing completely. Mo Li stared grimly at the entrance, struggling inwardly. There was definitely something inside, and Wei Dengke had been dragged in by that unknown thing. Now that Wen Jing and Wei Dengke had both been captured, should he go in? He was seriously injured. Although his wounds were recovering quickly because of his special constitution, given his current condition, he might not be able to accomplish anything even if he went inside.

But what if Wei Dengke and Wen Jing were in mortal danger? Every minute he delayed increased their danger. If he did not hurry in to save them, they would probably be dead by the time his injuries had mostly healed.

After hesitating for a long while, Mo Li gritted his teeth and lay down on the ground before crawling into the hole. However, he had taken precautions. Before crawling in, Mo Li drew his short blade and gripped it in his hand. That way, if he really encountered danger, he could at least put up a struggle.

Contrary to Mo Li's expectations, when he crawled into the hole, he was shocked to discover that there was nothing inside. On the other side of the entrance was a spacious area, apparently the interior of some building. Since the buildings in the Underground Palace Complex were all enormous, the place looked exceptionally empty.
