Chapter 20: Why Are You So Weak?
"None of my business? You disrupted my cultivation by hunting that Demonic Beast, and you think you're in the right? You even said you'd hit me. Come on, come on, let me see what you've got!"
Shen Gui was furious.
You disturb my sleep, and then you want to hit me?
Fine, let's go! Who's afraid of who?
Anyway, he didn't sense this person was particularly strong, so there was no need to back down.
Hearing Shen Gui's words, The Man's temper flared as well.
With a shrug of his shoulders, he tossed the Giant Beast's corpse to the ground and strode toward Shen Gui. "You think I wouldn't dare hit you?"
With that, The Man lunged forward, using no divine abilities or techniques at all, simply swinging his fist straight at Shen Gui.
Yet, even though The Man didn't use any divine abilities, that single punch brought a suffocating pressure crashing down on Shen Gui. This man's purely physical strike was no weaker than the full-force blow of an ordinary Golden Immortal.
However, despite the formidable physical power The Man displayed, Shen Gui was still in a fit of rage and didn't think twice.
Snorting angrily, Shen Gui said, "You want to compare physiques? Fine, let's see!"
With that, Shen Gui didn't dodge or evade, instead swinging his own fist toward The Man.
After all, my body forged from Mysterious Yellow Qi—am I afraid of close combat with you?
Almost at the same moment, both fists landed on their respective targets.
When The Man's fist struck Shen Gui, a faint Mysterious Yellow light flickered across Shen Gui's body, and he seemed to feel nothing at all. He countered by punching The Man, a subtle Mysterious Yellow glow shimmering on his own fist.
As Shen Gui's punch landed, The Man's body jolted, and he was sent stumbling back dozens of steps before stopping.
Though The Man's robust physique meant he wasn't actually injured, the outcome of this exchange left him somewhat incredulous.
After all, we Wu Clan rely on our bodies for everything—how could someone else have a stronger physique than me?
Frowning, The Man glanced at Shen Gui, rubbed the spot on his chest where Shen Gui's fist had hit, and shouted defiantly, "Again!"
With that, he lunged once more at Shen Gui.
Seeing this, Shen Gui snorted coldly and met him head-on. "Think I'm afraid of you?"
Then the two clashed again, trading blows in a chaotic melee.
But as the fight dragged on, The Man grew more and more frustrated. His attacks landed on Shen Gui, but Shen Gui acted as if he felt nothing. Meanwhile, Shen Gui's blows, though unable to truly harm him, always managed to knock him back, leaving him disheveled and thoroughly on the losing side of the confrontation.
As for Shen Gui, he noticed that his attacks didn't seem to cause any real damage to The Man either, but since The Man's hits didn't affect him at all, he didn't care.
So Shen Gui simply imagined The Man as a giant sandbag, completely abandoning defense and just throwing punch after punch while muttering, "You disturb my sleep, and not only that, you want to hit me. You disturb my sleep..."
The nagging voice kept ringing in The Man's ears, driving him to distraction.
After another exchange of blows, The Man finally couldn't take the torment anymore and used the momentum to pull back.
"Hey, I said, if you're going to fight, just fight—can you stop muttering? You're a grown man, why are you so fussy?"
The Man had backed off, and Shen Gui, having vented most of his Morning Rage after all that fighting, didn't immediately pursue.
But now, hearing The Man's complaint, he wasn't happy. "You disturbed my sleep, and you think you're in the right? If you're not convinced, keep fighting!"
To his surprise, The Man waved a hand. "No more, no more. I can't beat you, and you can't hurt me. This fight's no fun. But you're not one of us Wu Clan brothers—how is your physique so strong? Sure, your attacks are nothing special, but I reckon your body is even tougher than mine. Aside from the Ancestral Wu, I've never seen anyone with a stronger physique than yours."
Hearing this, Shen Gui was taken aback. "You're from the Wu Clan?"
The Man shot him a glare. "Obviously." Then he flexed his arm, showing off his muscles. "Who else but us Wu Clan could have such a powerful body?"
At that, The Man looked at Shen Gui with some irritation. "But you, with your scrawny arms and legs—how is your physique so strong too?"
"What's your name?"
The Man said, "You managed to fight me to a standstill, so you're worthy of knowing my name. I am a Great Wu of the Houtu Tribe, one of the twelve Wu Clan tribes. Xing Tian. Remember it."
This time, Shen Gui was dumbfounded. "You're Xing Tian?"
The man calling himself Xing Tian was also startled. "What, you've heard of me?"
But Shen Gui didn't answer. Instead, he walked up to Xing Tian, circled him again and again, looking him up and down. His gaze, especially when it lingered on Xing Tian's chest and lower abdomen, made Xing Tian feel a chill run down his spine.
Finally, when Shen Gui had circled Xing Tian for the hundred and first time, Xing Tian couldn't hold back anymore. "What are you doing?"
Then he saw Shen Gui's puzzled expression. "That's not right. If you're Xing Tian, then why are you so weak? You can't even beat me?"
After all, who was Xing Tian? The God of War! How could he possibly lose to me?
