Sage Mode Support

Shima assists Jiraiya alongside Fukasaku when he enters Sage Mode.

• Helped Jiraiya defeat the reanimated Fourth Kazekage after his summons alone failed to overcome the opponent 246.
• Her removal from Jiraiya's shoulders during Madara Uchiha's attack forced Jiraiya out of Sage Mode 313.
• Responded immediately when Jiraiya summoned her and Fukasaku in anticipation of a possible battle 299.

Mount Myōboku Summoning

Shima can be summoned by Jiraiya and travels with Fukasaku as one of Mount Myōboku's senior sages.

• Appeared with Fukasaku after Jiraiya summoned them to his secret room as Hokage 190.
• Previously accompanied Fukasaku in calling Jiraiya to Mount Myōboku at the Great Toad Sage's request 86.
• Was present when Naruto sought an audience with the Great Toad Sage and signed Mount Myōboku's summoning contract 299.

Relationships

• Jiraiya — Summoning partner and Sage Mode supporter; she and Fukasaku congratulated him upon his appointment as Fifth Hokage 190 246.
• Fukasaku — Fellow Mount Myōboku sage and frequent companion. She pressed him to apologize to Jiraiya for withholding the Great Toad Sage's prophecy 190.
• Great Toad Sage Gamamaru — Mount Myōboku's elder sage. Shima helped relay the revelation that Gamamaru had foreseen Jiraiya becoming Hokage 190.
• Naruto Uzumaki — Initially wary of his request to meet Gamamaru, particularly after recognizing him as the Child of Prophecy and sensing Ryūchi Cave's aura on him 299.

Jiraiya's Prophecy

Shima accompanies Fukasaku when Jiraiya is called to Mount Myōboku to meet the Great Toad Sage 86. After Jiraiya becomes Fifth Hokage, she rebukes Fukasaku for concealing Gamamaru's year-old prophecy of Jiraiya's appointment 190.

Support in Battle

Together with Fukasaku, Shima enables Jiraiya's Sage Mode in his battle against the reanimated Fourth Kazekage 246. During Madara Uchiha's assault on the Five Kage, she and Fukasaku are knocked from Jiraiya's shoulders, ending his Sage Mode 313.

Naruto's Visit to Mount Myōboku

When Naruto asks to meet Gamamaru, Shima and Fukasaku initially assume Jiraiya has summoned them for combat. She reacts uneasily to Naruto's Ryūchi Cave aura, but accompanies the group as Naruto proceeds to meet the Great Toad Sage 299.
