There was no doubt that he knew perfectly well that even if he summoned Bat-Mite, he could never gain his approval, let alone make use of his power.

At the edge of the Reverse-Flash's world, aboard The Batman Who Laughs's ship.

The Batman Who Laughs sat at the table, holding a deck of cards. The other figure across from him slowly laid down a card.

A beam of light shone down on their heads. The Batman Who Laughs's body was hidden in darkness, leaving the face of the person playing against him alternating between light and shadow.

That person wore a round top hat. The light revealed the white hand he used to play his card.

He did not answer The Batman Who Laughs. Instead, he pointed at the game.

"All right, all right..." The Batman Who Laughs said.

With a broad smile, he reached out and covered the face-down playing card.

"I'm guessing you don't want to end this game so quickly. And a loser who's already left the table has to pay something before he can return."

The Batman Who Laughs said, "Just look at you."

The Batman Who Laughs did not turn over the card. He merely made the motion of doing so before saying, "This reminds me of how I felt when I snapped your neck back then... Though they weren't the same thing, they felt exactly alike."

He continued, "You dreamed of turning Batman into the way you wanted him to be.
