I was Brainiac.
I was originally Brainiac, appointed by Colu. I crossed the cosmos solely to gather all the knowledge in the universe.
I should have invaded some parallel universe's Earth in an ordinary manner, like the countless Brainiacs born since the multiverse came into existence, attempting to collect a city in my bottle before being defeated by Superman, Batman, or even the entire Justice League, ultimately bringing my ridiculous life to an end.
To the entire multiverse, the role and meaning I played was to become a "trial" for the superheroes. To fight true threats, the superheroes—the multiverse's "immune system"—had to maintain powerful combat abilities. I was the "vaccine" they used for practice, preventing them from losing the ability to resist outside enemies like the superheroes of Earth-51 before Final Crisis.
(Note: Before the Crisis, Old Batman of Earth-51 killed Jason and then slaughtered all the supervillains, leaving the heroes without any training. This ultimately caused the universe to be destroyed.)
Every time the DC Universe rebooted, my story would replay in a different place and at a different time. The me from the Prime Universe and the different parallel universes had already invaded Earth many times, and this act of "vaccination" would only end when the multiverse was utterly destroyed and fell into eternal heat death.
But at a certain moment... the "vaccine" would occasionally discover its own tragic fate and then attempt to rebel.
Countless ages ago—or only a brief moment ago—I personally witnessed Flashpoint.
In an instant, countless events that should have happened were interrupted, and the entire multiverse was rebooted.
The old timeline rose, entering the upper reaches of the Over-Time Stream, while a new timeline was born, descending into its lower reaches to become the current reality.
It was a magnificent sight beyond the
