Barbatos felt as though he were soaring through a tranquil lake that reflected everything like a mirror of the sky, his thoughts gliding softly through it.
Countless tiny beings of light circled around him, flowing along with him. The sensation was more wonderful than he could have imagined.
Cruelty and destruction had long been carved into Barbatos's very bones, becoming the essence of his existence. The warm emotions known as "positive" should have been an eternal desert to him—or rather, the only comfort remotely resembling positivity that he could feel came from the fleeting pleasure after destruction.
But now, he felt this emotion.
That tiny being of light had lightly broken into his ossified mental world, bringing him a strange sensation he had never touched throughout his long existence.
Barbatos knew he might have been manipulated somehow, but the feeling was simply too wonderful. Like poppies, it was impossible to resist, spreading a cloying, addictive poison.
Thus, Barbatos allowed himself to drown in this unfamiliar feeling that surged over him like a tide. He let the tiny being of light seep in, bit by bit, melting him away until it completely merged with the core of his thoughts.
—Our bodies collapse, but our spirits live forever.
The little being of light soothed Barbatos's soul. There seemed to be nothing wrong with that. However, such beings of light—or rather, such positive emotions—could only give Barbatos a little positivity. They could not dispel his cowardice.
After absorbing the little being of light, Barbatos might feel comforted, but it still would not be enough to drive him to do anything. At most, it would make him a little happier while lying around waiting to die.
Therefore, these seemingly radiant little beings of light had, naturally, been given some strange additions by Hero Day.
