All he had to do was proceed step by step, just as he had countless times while traveling through the timeline, changing events that had already happened. But now, things seemed to be developing differently.
First Lantern surveyed his surroundings. He had appeared in a dense place that looked like a primeval jungle. Which parallel universe's timeline was this? Or was it a historical point on the Prime Universe's timeline? The Cretaceous or the Cambrian? He saw two unfamiliar creatures pass by them. The trees were so tall that not even the Amazon had anything like them on the Prime Universe's timeline.
Come to think of it, this was not the first time he had changed The Batman Who Laughs.
Previously, he had already stopped The Batman Who Laughs from stealing a year from the DC Universe. But after he changed history, The Batman Who Laughs had not stolen a year—instead, he had stolen fifty-two seconds. So he changed it a second time. This time, he had thought he had successfully altered the history in which The Batman Who Laughs stole those fifty-two seconds, but reality had once again proven that he had not.
Even First Lantern himself was somewhat confused. History and the timeline were becoming increasingly chaotic. Sometimes, First Lantern was not even sure whether his memories were real, or merely echoes created in his mind after history had been rewritten countless times.
But in any case, this time should have been like the countless times before. He had traveled to the past timeline of the Over-Time Stream, then relied on his advantage of foresight to once again guide history toward the outcome
