Background / History
Life as Su Mu
Raised by the Su family as Su Zhenxing and Liu Yanran’s adopted son, Su Mu was considered a favored, high-achieving heir: handsome, tall, academically excellent, and accustomed to the privileges of the Su family. He regarded Su Chen’s return as a direct threat to his standing and inheritance. 1 130 295
When Su Zhenxing began investigating his biological background, Su Mu attempted to preserve his place through an emotional declaration of loyalty, insisting that he recognized only the Su family and did not want contact with his blood relatives. Su Chen then produced a paternity report linking him to He Jingtian. 195 Su Mu was ultimately expelled from the Su family and sought out He Jingtian, adopting the name He Mu. 199 205 207
America and Meisheng
He Jingtian initially presented himself as a supportive biological father and revealed that he was Meisheng’s China-region head. He Mu accepted his help, believing that his father’s connections could restore his status and enable revenge against the Su family. 205 207
Instead, He Jingtian sent him to America under the guise of study and delivered him to Devil Island associates for exploitation. He Mu endured abuse, was used to secure favors from powerful backers, and later underwent a transformation surgery that permanently altered his body. These events left him intensely hostile toward He Jingtian, Su Zhenxing, and Su Chen. 230 231 232 471
During this period, He Mu trained in boxing and gained the support of Devil Island figures. Meisheng headquarters appointed him China Region President, while He Jingtian was reduced to Executive President. 235 237
Return to Haishi
After returning to Haishi, He Mu attacked He Jingtian, knocked him down with one punch, and broke his left arm. He then asserted authority over both He Jingtian and Meisheng’s China operations. 235 236 237
At his welcome banquet, he appeared as a confident young executive and announced Meisheng’s plan to introduce inexpensive American optical modules into China, directly threatening Su Corporation’s main business. Su Chen exposed both his former identity as Su Mu and photographs documenting his experiences in America, destroying the prestige He Mu sought to establish. 240 241 242 246
Campaign Against the Su Family
He Mu continued to target the Su family through manipulation rather than direct confrontation. He exploited Liu Yanran’s trust to obtain material related to Su Lili, encouraged plans that would expose Su-family scandals, and arranged dubious blind dates for Su Qiqi in an attempt to damage the family’s reputation. 254 256 257 271 276
His attempt to defeat Su Corporation through Meisheng’s optical-module products also failed. He accused competition referees of fraud after Su Corporation won the first stage, was publicly beaten by Su Chen, and lost a fifty-million-yuan wager. 307 308 311 319
Final Plot and Death
Under pressure from his American backers and increasingly desperate to eliminate Su Chen, He Mu accepted Liu Yanran’s money and hired Mike’s foreign mercenary group. He joined Mike on the attempted assassination and supplied a Close Combat Snake pistol. 432 439 440 459
Su Chen confronted He Mu, Mike, and another assassin. He Mu offered fifty million yuan for his life, but Su Chen shot him dead; Da Wang dissolved the bodies of He Mu and the foreign assassin. 463 His disappearance prompted a police investigation, while his death was later confirmed to He Jingtian. 469 491

His resentment toward Su Chen stemmed largely from seeing Su Chen as an outsider who had taken what should have been his. 130 199 269 295
His experiences in America transformed this insecurity into obsessive vengeance. He became volatile, violent, and increasingly preoccupied with humiliating or destroying Su Chen, Su Zhenxing, and He Jingtian. 231 234 236 296
He is also calculating when pursuing leverage. He repeatedly exploited Liu Yanran’s sympathy, used Su Lili and Su Qiqi as tools against the Su family, and treated allies as disposable once they ceased being useful. 254 257 264 277 439
