Overview

The Xiantian Realm is the second of Great Qin's three major Martial Way realms: Houtian, Xiantian, and Grandmaster. Each realm is divided into three tiers, making nine tiers in total. It marks the transition from bodily cultivation into the use of Xiantian True Essence, a transcendent power refined from qi and blood. 2 11

A Houtian martial artist reaches a limit of one ox of strength—2,000 jin—but a Xiantian expert can surpass this limit through True Essence. This difference creates a gulf described as a heavenly chasm; strength, speed, perception, and specialized methods become substantially more formidable. 11

Entry and Advancement

From Houtian to Xiantian

To enter the Xiantian Realm, a martial artist must temper and condense Xiantian True Essence. Those who begin this process but cannot complete it remain at Half-step Xiantian. 14

Half-step Xiantian practitioners possess a thin True Essence aura and a protective force around the body. They can contend with true Xiantian experts briefly, but their True Essence is insufficient for sustained combat. 14

Toward Grandmaster

Late Xiantian is the final stage before the Grandmaster Realm. Advancing further requires:

• Sufficient vitality and True Essence.
• A Grandmaster Tribulation.
• A Heavenly Dao Opportunity, identified as a cultivation treasure such as a relic. 26 41

The first Grandmaster level is the Dragon Elephant Realm. A Grandmaster possesses one elephant's strength—50,000 jin—far beyond the nine-ox baseline of Late Xiantian. 41

Abilities & Characteristics

Xiantian True Essence

True Essence is the defining power of the realm, representing a sublimation of qi and blood. It empowers physical force and enables methods inaccessible to Houtian martial artists. 11

• Allows strength beyond the Houtian one-ox limit. 11
• Enhances speed and movement; Xiantian practitioners can become light as swallows, move swiftly, and tread through the air in short bursts, though they cannot truly fly. 39
• Enables cultivation-based perception capable of locating opponents and judging their cultivation, though using it may reveal the user's own strength. 37
• Can be stored in True Essence Beads, but a Houtian user cannot refine these beads into their own cultivation. 17

Saber Qi and Martial Intent

When Xiantian True Essence merges with a masterful weapon technique, it can extend into the weapon as Saber Qi or Sword Qi. 15

Social Standing

Xiantian martial artists hold exceptional status in Great Qin. In Luyang Prefecture, which governs nine counties and thirteen towns, only seven or eight Xiantian experts are known; they serve as army commanders, sect leaders, or retained experts of great clans. 24

The Dragon Tiger Ranking is primarily composed of renowned Xiantian experts. Its weakest listed members are Mid Xiantian, and it contains 300 powerhouses across Yongtian Continent. 27
