Medisa, Charles, and the others had to prepare for the battles they might soon face, while the other members of the delegation, each with their own worries, were persuaded by Brando to return. In the end, only Yuta remained at his side. The Female Mercenary Captain was the nominal commander of the White Lion Guard accompanying the delegation, so she had to stay and await Brando's orders.

"Hmph, I could guess even if you didn't tell me," the girl answered smugly. "But are you really planning to stand with the Crusians?" She examined Brando curiously. Because she possessed a rare trace of Cruzian blood, her eyes were naturally pale blue, transparent as glass.
"We have a common interest now. Why not?" Brando answered.
"That's true, but it doesn't quite fit your usual style."
Brando found that amusing and deliberately teased her. "Miss Chiara, I've known you for less than a month, and you spent more than half that time hiding in a carriage. You know my style that well?"
Chiara glanced at the Duke's Daughter. "High-handed, stubborn—"
"Stop!" Brando saw the Duke's Daughter move her lips as
