Background

Kong Xuan is a Phoenix Race cultivator burdened by the Phoenix Clan's karma from the Dragon-Han Primordial Calamity. To isolate himself from that karma and continue advancing on the Great Dao, he entered the service of the Human Race dynasty and used Human Race Destiny as concealment. He became the General of Sanshan Pass at Golden Rooster Ridge, where he cultivated his innate Five-Colored Divine Light. 16

Di Xin identified Kong Xuan as a crucial asset for Yin Shang and summoned him to Chaoge under the pretext of appointing him to the planned Star-Gathering Pavilion. Kong Xuan initially regarded the Human King's invitation as both temptation and pressure, but agreed to meet him. 7 8 16

At Qingxian Hall, Kong Xuan accepted Di Xin's ambition to make the Human Race supreme between heaven and earth. He swore to stand with Chaoge until Di Xin's death, provided that no Saint directly intervened. In exchange, Di Xin and the Three Sovereigns promised that the Human Race would fully assist Kong Xuan in severing his third corpse and attaining the fruit of a Supreme Being. 17

Appearance

Kong Xuan usually appears as a handsome, well-proportioned middle-aged man in a colorful robe. Though outwardly scholarly and composed, his presence carries the confidence of a cultivator who does not fear even Saint-level opponents. 16 17

Personality

Kong Xuan is calm, proud, and exceptionally self-assured. He dismisses ordinary threats and insults without anger, viewing figures such as Bi Gan as too insignificant to merit a reaction. 16

He is also direct about the limits of ambition: having seen powerful figures fall, he initially rejects Di Xin's talk of domination. Di Xin's willingness to challenge the established order nevertheless interests him enough to form their alliance. 17

Despite his relaxed manner, Kong Xuan can be ruthless. When Xiao Sheng and Cao Bao become entangled with the Treasure-Dropping Golden Coin, he considers killing them to avoid the karmic burden of the treasure. He ultimately restrains himself partly because severing ties with Yin Shang would expose him to the backlash of Destiny. 46
