Qin He investigated the corpse outbreaks and followed the trail to Copper Drum Mountain, where Ermahun’s schemes set several old enemies against one another inside a deadly formation. He helped Shen Lian and the others fight the regenerating Shiju, then pursued Ermahun as the battle ended.

• Qin He took the Little Calf into his care, learned it had become stronger with the Big Turtle, and agreed to investigate corpse attacks at Gao Mansion and Qiao Dalu’s residence.
• Qin He cremated Gao Liheng and Qiao Dalu, whose Shadow Play Performances exposed their crimes, and received the Marking Technique.

Qin He killed Lady Ke and King Yu, gained new techniques and merit through corpse burning and temple prayers, while the Di Barbarians launched a disastrous siege against Bao'an Prefecture. The arc left Qin He moving Little Calf out of the Corpse Burning Facility after the beasts’ latest fight.

• Qin He used repeated Gale Techniques to help An Zhongjiu catch and kill Ermahun, then frightened An Zhongjiu by making Ermahun’s corpse vanish on four moving legs.
• Qin He burned Ermahun’s corpse, received the Sound Listening Technique, and spent snowy days at the facility as the northern crisis and shortages worsened.
• Lady Ke’s attendant turned famine refugees into Faceless Corpses, and Qin He later attacked Lady Ke’s procession, killed her guards, and defeated King Yu’s Soul Ghosts.

Qin He aided refugees and the capital through famine and war while concealing his identity and settling karmic debts. During a seven-day closure of the Corpse Burning Facilities, he investigated the Gao and Qiao families’ vicious corpses and ended trapped in a confrontation with Wu De and two Human Corpses.

• Qin He rescued an abandoned infant, forced Xu Tianen to feed the refugees, and left the child with Wang Laoqi and Yun Shi.
• A Qige’s Di Barbarian army attacked, but Shen Lian and the Flying Fish Guard repelled it with Qin He’s covert help, and Qin He later killed A Qige.
• Qin He secretly healed Shen Lian, burned A Qige’s corpse, and received the Truth Spell from the Black Robed Man.
