Overview
Demon Hunters are Luoshan personnel responsible for handling abnormal events after probes investigate and report them. They may confront strange phenomena, evil spirits, monsters, and Fallen Demon Hunters directly. A person with extraordinary power may also be recognized as a Demon Hunter even without formally entering the profession. 12 20 26
Luoshan is nominally a “Demon Hunter Department” under official jurisdiction, though its Demon Hunters possess substantial independence and its relationship with conventional authorities is strained. Many Demon Hunters consider strength the basis of social standing and look down on probes and ordinary people. 20 22

Entry requirements
- Standard admission requires passing a test of both combat strength and knowledge of abnormalities. A person without formal study may need at least three years of instruction before passing. 49

Demon Hunters may cultivate mana that enhances and reshapes the body and soul. Physical-enhancement types can possess extreme speed, durability, and killing power; a Stability-level physical type can endure conventional gunfire, artillery, flamethrowers, and sonic weapons. 22 39

Fallen Demon Hunters
“Fallen Demon Hunter” is used for dangerous supernatural criminals, including humans capable of transforming into monstrous forms. The Fallen Demon Hunter encountered in Xianshui City was originally the murderer in the Fifteenth Floor case and possessed at least Stability-level physical enhancement. 22 27 28
- Fallen Demon Hunters may be strong enough to kill multiple Luoshan Demon Hunters assigned to their case. 28
- The title does not necessarily indicate that its bearer was once a legitimate Luoshan Demon Hunter; the Xianshui killer had used extraordinary power for evil from the beginning. 28
