| Beyond Decay (unnamed) | 39 | The Monster Maker's Seed of the Heart merged with Kong Da and immediately elevated him beyond the Decay level, granting monstrous transformation and shadow manipulation. 39 |
Background / History
Kong Da first encountered the supernatural in an abandoned alley, where Wuchang rescued him from an abnormal event. He joined Luoshan to learn how to confront such dangers, but never became a Demon Hunter; instead, he served as a probe for more than a decade while witnessing colleagues die in the field. 38 39
Desperate for power, he accepted the Monster Maker's Seed of the Heart. The Seed transformed him into a Ram-headed Monster with shadow-based abilities, but imposed the need to kill and consume souls to sustain and develop its power. Kong Da ultimately compromised his morality, transferring the Seed into a former cult leader and making him his Stand puppet. 39 40
Eight months before the Fifteenth Floor incident, Kong Da killed a superpowered individual and used the victim's blood in an attempted time-travel ritual. The incomplete ritual failed, but later produced the anomalous cave beneath Zhu Changan's apartment. 41
While publicly operating as Agent Kong, a Luoshan probe, he concealed that he was the true Fallen Demon Hunter responsible for the Fifteenth Floor murder case and the related killings. Under a police disguise, he investigated Zhu Changan's residence, reported the ritual array to Zhu Shi, and searched for Maza under the pretense that she was an escaped serial killer. 12 29 38 41
Appearance
In his public identity, Agent Kong is a man in his thirties who wears Luoshan's gray uniform. 20 32 The Seed of the Heart allows him to assume a monstrous Ram-headed Demon form. 39
- His transformed arms can become sharp blades for close-range killing. 38 42
- He can form temporary artificial limbs from shadows after suffering severe damage. 43
- His Monster form is associated with shadow manipulation and mirror-image clones. 39 41
Personality
As Agent Kong, he presents himself as patient, professional, and knowledgeable. He carefully investigates anomalies, explains Luoshan procedures to Zhuang Cheng, and shares practical warnings about the dangers facing inexperienced ability users. 12 33 35
Beneath this persona, Kong Da is calculating, ruthless, and intensely survival-driven. He believes that striking first matters more than overwhelming firepower, studies opponents for exploitable weaknesses, and feels no remorse over murder. 38 42 His pursuit of power was born from fear and helplessness, but ultimately led him to accept the Monster Maker's conditions and sacrifice others to preserve his own strength. 39 40
He nevertheless shows genuine concern for Zhu Shi, hoping Zhuang Cheng could provide her emotional support and warning her to protect Zhu Changan from the Fallen Demon Hunter. 12 33
Abilities & Skills
Seed of the Heart
The abnormality implanted by the Monster Maker grants Kong Da his Monster form and powers, but requires soul energy and drives him toward further killing. 39 40 41
- Transforms him into a Ram-headed Demon with exceptional physical power. 39
- Initially raised his power beyond the Decay level. 39
- Requires souls to sustain control and evolve. 40 41
- Its loss causes his power to spiral out of control. 45
Physical Enhancement
Kong Da's transformed body provides formidable attack power, resilience, speed, and close-combat lethality. 38 43
- Can partially transform an arm into a blade without exposing his full form. 42
- Decapitated Zhuang Cheng in a surprise attack, then destroyed his eyes and brain to prevent retaliation. 38 42
- Uses high-speed blade attacks while fully transformed. 43
- His physical fighting style leaves him dependent on close-range, hands-on killing. 38
Shadow Manipulation
Kong Da can manipulate shadows to create clones, prosthetics, attacks, and routes of escape. 39 41 43
- Summons weaker mirror-image clones through shadow power. 41
- Creates shadow limbs to replace destroyed arms or legs. 43
- Uses shadows to conceal ambushes and launch blade-like attacks. 37 42
- Can employ Shadow Transfer to enter the Shadow World and escape an opponent's reach. 43
Stand
Kong Da can temporarily implant the Seed of the Heart into another person, creating a Monster puppet called a Stand. 40
- Turned a former cult leader into a Stand to hunt Demon Hunters. 40
- Used his Stand to probe Zhuang Cheng's abilities around the Fifteenth Floor anomaly. 42
- His Stand could disobey orders, fleeing from Zhuang Cheng's flames despite Kong Da's command. 42
Investigation and Deception
His experience as a Luoshan probe makes him a capable investigator of strange phenomena. 12 20
- Studied Ritual Studies at Luoshan and correctly identified the Fifteenth Floor array as an incomplete cross-dimensional ritual. 12
- Conducted covert surveillance, recorded evidence, and reported anomalies to Demon Hunters. 12 13
- Impersonated a police officer to investigate the Fifteenth Floor murder and pursue Maza. 10 16 29
- Tested Zhuang Cheng's ability to react to attacks from behind before personally ambushing him. 42

Story Role / Major Arcs
Fifteenth Floor Investigation
Posing as a police officer, Agent Kong investigated the earlier murder in Zhu Changan's apartment and questioned both Changan and Zhuang Cheng. He discovered the incomplete ritual array, reported it to Zhu Shi, and explained that its intended purpose was to access overlapping dimensions. 10 12
He also identified Zhuang Cheng as someone unusually likely to have obtained supernatural protection or power, suggesting that Zhu Shi recruit him as either a partner or an exceptional probe. 12 20
Luoshan Investigator
After his false identity was exposed, Agent Kong openly accompanied Zhuang Cheng in Luoshan-related investigations. He discussed the risks of Flame Manipulation, explained Soul Deprivation Syndrome and Luoshan's internal factions, and investigated an abandoned construction site's ghost story with him. 32 33 34 35
During the construction-site investigation, he wielded Luoshan equipment alongside Zhuang Cheng against several demons, reinforcing Zhuang Cheng's trust in him. 36 37
Revelation as the Fallen Demon Hunter
Agent Kong used the demon attack to determine that Zhuang Cheng could not reliably detect a rear ambush. Once Zhuang Cheng turned away, Kong Da transformed his arm into a blade, decapitated him, and revealed himself as the true Fallen Demon Hunter. 37 38 42
Zhuang Cheng survived by transforming his body into flames, forcing Kong Da into a full Monster transformation and eventually driving him into the Shadow World. Kong Da escaped to the abandoned construction site, but Zhuang Cheng pursued him through his connection to his flames. 43 44
Death
Kong Da's Seed of the Heart was lost as he was overwhelmed by Zhuang Cheng. His power went out of control, and he self-destructed after being blasted away, destroying part of the unfinished building. His remains reverted to human form, allowing Zhu Shi to confirm that Agent Kong had been the Fallen Demon Hunter. 45 46
