Background

Su Tu began as an eighteen-year-old high-school student and outstanding academic performer. His physical ability already stood apart from ordinary students: he could throw a two-hundred-pound sandbag with Straight Punches, prompting PE teacher Lin Feiyang to take notice 1. A painting in Lin's office then drew Su Tu into a vision of a world beneath two moons—one white and one blood-red—and granted him the skill Dao Plucking 2.

He entered Moon Stepping Martial Arts Hall after learning that Martial Dao would become part of the college entrance examination. Zhou Wuliang accepted him as his seventh student and intended to train him as one of North Sea's ten candidates 8. Though Zhou initially hesitated to formally accept Su Tu because of unresolved karma, he supplied him with rare techniques and personally guided his cultivation 10 19.

Su Tu later entered the Heaven Reaching Dao Heritage through an apprenticeship arranged by Sword Old and Xiao. The inheritance recognized him as an ancient sage's disciple, placing him in a seniority so high that Zhou Wuliang became authorized to teach on his behalf rather than simply remain his master 178 181.

His later discoveries revealed that his identity was not merely human: he is a pure, ultimate divinity restored through Su Tu's memories. He ultimately accepts that this does not invalidate his selfhood: he remains Su Tu 440 443.

Appearance

At eighteen, Su Tu is 1.81 meters tall, making him conspicuous among his peers. He is described as having sharp eyebrows, starry eyes, a high nose bridge, and a striking, film-star-like appearance 5.

  • Well-defined musculature shaped by relentless body cultivation; his physique becomes increasingly precise and symmetrical as his War Body progresses 253.
  • Black-and-white eyes that later manifest unusual divine traits, including blood-red coloration and three black stars at the edge of his left pupil during a divine transformation 320.
  • His physical examination finds no conventional bodily anomaly, despite muscles, bones, and meridians far denser than normal 135.

Personality

Su Tu is straightforward, observant, and difficult to manipulate. He carefully weighs offers and hidden motives—such as Tang Yangwu's attempt to befriend him through a nutritional potion—rather than accepting apparent goodwill at face value 18. He also remains composed when provoked, refusing to boast about his strength or let outside praise determine his path 86 124.

Despite his focus on strength, he values the people around him. He breaks a cult leader's mental suggestion to protect classmates he has known for years, recognizing that he is still “Su Tu” despite the changes in his life 50. He repays Zhou Wuliang's care with deep loyalty, regarding the Moon Stepping Martial Arts Hall as a second home and his master as family 176 325.

His ambition is vast rather than complacent. After encountering evidence that gods exist, he resolves to become strong enough to confront them himself 31. Even after uncovering his divinity, he defines himself by his own will instead of any title, faith, or past identity 443.
