Background and History
Founding of Tomorrow
Li Ye enters the wasteland as a slave aboard the low-tier mobile city Mole. He leads the former slaves in a revolt, removes the previous lord’s remaining loyalists, seizes the city, and renames it Tomorrow 1.
His first priority is survival: Tomorrow lacks food, water, iron ore, and ammunition. After activating the Intelligence System, Li Ye uses its reports to identify nearby resources, convoys, and threats, then directs the city’s first mining operation at a medium-sized iron mine 1.
Unlike the lord he overthrew, Li Ye explicitly refuses to treat recruits as slaves. New members are given rooms, food, water, and manageable work in exchange for becoming part of Tomorrow 7.
Building a Mobile City
Li Ye sets the goal of upgrading Tomorrow to Level 2 within three months and leaving the Wasteland Zone. He recruits and develops specialized personnel rather than relying solely on immediate combat power, including helmsman Tang Fang, mechanic Lin Wu, and artilleryman Ning Wen 4 13 14.
He prefers the Nomad Faction’s mobile way of life over settling permanently as a fortress, valuing exploration, resource access, and the uncertainty of each new journey 12. His early diplomacy includes trading with kobold merchants, forming temporary partnerships, and joining the Azure and Conqueror cities to hunt the Lava Spider Queen 5 14.
After Tomorrow reaches Tier 2, Li Ye expands its administration: Lin Wu becomes deputy, Old Zhou becomes combat captain, and the city’s residents receive improved water, furnishings, and living conditions 68. He later establishes an elected City Committee, a Public Security Bureau, public kitchens, a farmers market, and pensions for fallen combat personnel 100 197.
Alliance Expansion
As Tomorrow’s strength grows, Li Ye develops it from a single mobile city into the Tomorrow Alliance. He prioritizes production projects, air and naval power, special forces, advanced weaponry, and personnel training. During the battle involving Silent City and Lone Sail, he personally boards Lone Sail to secure seven Level 2 production projects despite the danger 83.
Li Ye’s command style becomes increasingly large-scale. He coordinates tanks, aircraft, submarines, speedboats, artillery, and mobile cities through detailed battlefield micromanagement, using his all-seeing view to exploit enemy weaknesses and secure battlefield superiority 165 193.
He also treats civilian development as a strategic necessity. The alliance creates simulated education and entertainment programs, city-scale housing plans, satellite communications, internal agriculture, and transportation systems rather than focusing solely on military expansion 181 252 319.
Wasteland Gods and Interplanetary Exploration
Li Ye leads the Tomorrow Alliance beyond Weilan Star’s familiar zones, exploring Guixu Continent, the Floating Island Zone, Rock Abyss, Wayne Star, Salandis, and Armat Star 241 261 296 315. His investigations reveal that Wasteland Gods are imprisoned on planets and that humanity may have been cultivated as a tool in their conflict with monsters 272 319.
At the Mechanical World Tree, Li Ye works with Loloqi to retrieve Tianzhi’s legacy. He obtains the blueprints for the Seven Deadly Sins weapons and a Mechanical World Tree seed capable of creating a new continent, while resolving to prevent Tianzhi’s corpse from being exploited by either humans or monsters 294.
He later warns the Nahas Emperor against the Thorn God’s Ascension system, arguing that the civilization should abandon its dependence on the imprisoned deity. The warning is rejected, and the conflict culminates in the destruction of the Nahas royal capital and the Thorn God’s forced retreat 317 318.
From Alliance to Civilization
Following the defeat of the Lord of Bones, Li Ye obtains the means to activate a super-giant Stargate and helps lead humanity’s exploration of the Macallan star system 344. The Tomorrow Alliance subsequently develops light-speed navigation, dimensional travel, a Level 7 City Simulation Training Pod, advanced gene technology, and interstellar construction capabilities 389 394 399.
The alliance settles in the Burnley Star System and is formally recognized as Tomorrow Civilization. Li Ye establishes a modern political structure with a Senate, House of Representatives, Supreme Court, and Supreme Military Council, while declaring that leadership should not be inherited by his descendants 397.
Under his direction, Burnley develops industrial, agricultural, financial, and military zones across hundreds of planets. He also authorizes the absorption of the Shadow Leopard and Shuojin civilizations to broaden Tomorrow Civilization’s knowledge, labor base, and long-term prospects 398 400.
By the finale, the Burnley Star System has completed its industrial and agricultural foundations, established Tomorrow Coin and a central bank, and begun building a self-sustaining economy. Li Ye steps back from the role of perpetual pioneer, allowing the civilization he founded to continue without him at its center 402 406.
Personality
Li Ye is pragmatic and decisive, particularly when survival or strategic opportunity is at stake. He is willing to take personal risks for technology and resources, such as infiltrating Lone Sail to obtain production projects, but generally evaluates danger through intelligence, reconnaissance, and force comparisons before committing his people 83 206.
His rule is shaped by his experience as a slave. He rejects inhumane treatment of recruits, invests in housing and public services, and builds legal and welfare systems as Tomorrow’s population grows 7 197. He also listens to advisers such as Lin Wu, Old Zhou, Fang Yong, Zhou Xing, and Yang Zheng, though he retains final authority over major decisions 168 251 284.
Li Ye’s curiosity repeatedly pushes the alliance into unknown territory, from wormholes and elemental planes to alien planets and higher dimensions 56 261 394. At the same time, he remains uneasy about technological progress that outpaces human ethics, particularly genetic modification, accelerated maturation, and consciousness-based immortality 391 399.
