Background and History
The Apocalypse Church first becomes known through its warning that the Wasteland Zone is nearing destruction. Its followers are widespread enough for the warning to reach independent survivor communities, which regard the Church as a world-class power. 47
The organization sends missionary Mobile Cities across the world to recruit believers and disseminate its doctrine. One such city, Believer, operated with 159 residents—69 church members and 90 normal residents—and functioned as both a settlement and an evangelizing outpost. 57
During the zombie civilization's expansion into the Eternal Night Zone, the Church organized a regional defensive war to delay the enemy and evacuate human forces. It deployed 25 Level 2 Mobile Cities, established four defensive fronts, and prohibited Predator Cities from hunting other cities during the operation. 103
The Church subsequently coordinated mass evacuations through burrowing and aerial Mobile Cities, relocating survivors to the Red Ridge Zone and constructing new towns and fortresses. Bishop Heath later became the human faction's overall commander for a counterattack against the zombie civilization. 131 135 168
Doctrine and Practices
Worship of the Wasteland Gods
The Church worships the Wasteland Gods, whom it credits with helping humanity survive the early wasteland era. 47 219
Dagon is revered as the Sleeping God, the Lord of R'lyeh, the Church's Heavenly Father, and humanity's Savior in the Wasteland. Its depiction is a gray-green humanoid creature with an octopus head, back tentacles, gelatinous scales, and the appearance of a decaying deep-sea being. 57
Religious Life
Believer's residents wear white and observe scheduled prayers signaled by a bronze steam clock. Exhaust valves release black smoke mixed with incense while deacons walk the deck with mechanical incense burners; worshippers then gather around a steam altar to chant scripture. 57
The Church's religious institutions include:
- Apocalypse Gospel — A steel-bound scripture more than ten centimeters thick, decorated with seven brass gears arranged as a cross and a spine of interlocking piston rods. 57
- Sanctum Academy — A tiered mechanical academy that educates normal residents, cultivates followers, and selects the devout for Church service. 57
- Confession Furnace — A punishment device in which offenders heat a branding iron themselves and receive an Apocalypse teaching on their skin. 57
- Gear Cemetery — A cemetery that preserves each deceased person's skull in a small grave and records their life on a gear-shaped tombstone. 57
- Bronze-cross branding — Children may receive a permanent bronze cross emblem through a steam-treatment chamber. 57
“To our revered, immortal Gods.” 57

Symbols and Visual Identity
The Church commonly uses sacred white paint, bronze crosses, and light-blade motifs on its Mobile Cities. A documented flag design includes a broken bronze cross, a central open eye, and twelve asymmetrical floating light blades. 94
- Church personnel on Believer wear white. 57
- Cathedrals, steel-and-glass structures, steam mechanisms, and bronze religious machinery are recurring elements of Church settlements. 57
- Its Mobile Cities often combine religious names with alphanumeric identifiers. 103 107

Operational Doctrine
The Church maintains specialized aerial, burrowing, transport, engineering, assault, defense, and fire-support cities. Its Level 3 combat groups can be organized as one Level 3 Mobile City supported by four Level 1 cities fully equipped with Level 3 weapons, aircraft, artillery, and missile launchers. 131 185
During the Silent Agreement, the Church deliberately limited its intervention against the zombie civilization to Level 2 forces. Escalating to higher-level cities would have prompted corresponding monster deployment and risked devastating the continent. 103 113 134
Humanitarian and Commercial Operations
The Church has a strong reputation among wasteland human forces for protecting compatriots, responding to emergencies, and avoiding harm to other human factions. This reputation enables its leaders to rally independent cities, survivor convoys, and bounty hunters. 105 118
Its evacuation and resettlement operations include:
- Deploying burrowing and aerial cities to move survivors across dangerous terrain. 131 135
- Planning the evacuation of two to three million survivors from Southern Liu Continent's Scrap District. 184
- Operating Tower Cities with water stations, canteens, infirmaries, education centers, and public entertainment areas. 184
- Screening incoming residents by age, gender, health, and professional skill before transferring them to allied settlements. 215 272
The Church also operates a trade department and official stores. It buys low-level blueprints for resale and to support weaker human forces, while using resource-transfer devices to conduct long-distance transactions. 219 250
The Holy Son Project
The Church's top-secret Son of God project was personally led by Pope Constantine and intended to provide humanity with an ultimate weapon. Church leadership considers the project both essential and exceptionally dangerous. 219 221
The project created Adam, the Holy Son. Although he normally appears as a young child, Cardinals state that this human form is only a vessel. Adam can perceive thoughts and emotions, purify old-era humans afflicted by Dagon's mental contamination, and possesses sensory abilities surpassing those of an Emperor-class Monster. 221 285
During the battle in the Otherworld's War Venerable's War Kingdom, Adam revealed a true form described as a hundreds-of-meters-tall, six-winged, headless angel radiating annihilating light. 377
