Background / History

At its height, the Yuan Chen Sword Sect possessed the heritage of the Four Peaks Three Veins. Its Sect-Protecting Technique, the Yuan Chen Sword Canon, merged the techniques of all seven inheritances and was said to have shaken the world. The founder divided the canon into seven component techniques so disciples with lesser talent could cultivate them separately before attempting fusion. 69 390 826

The sect later suffered major crises, including internal strife in which branch leaders left with their disciples. Although the sect retained backups at the time, many inheritances were subsequently lost or damaged; the departed branches declined and could not be found. 69 333

By the time Chen Fei joined, the sect's heritage was comparable to nearby sects, but its strongest known sword art, the Thunderclap Sword, had not reached its highest level for years. Its overall and top-end strength consequently lagged behind its peers. 67

• Sinking Water Lineage — Formerly Sinking Water Pavilion; merged into the sect as a special lineage. It retains the right to independently recruit female disciples, while receiving a share of sect resources. 463

Chen Fei's entry and early advancement

Chen Fei joined after failing to qualify for the Immortal Cloud Sword Sect's recruitment. He entered as an Outer Sect Disciple and received the Initial Origin Sword, then passed the inner-sect examination by defeating assessor Yang Chuanzhen. 67 68 69

Restoration of lost inheritances

Chen Fei found an incomplete Yuan Chen Sword Canon main technique in the Long Rainbow Sect's inheritance ground. He later infiltrated the Sword Return Pavilion using the Sword Guiding Art and retrieved the complete canon, including its missing third through fifth layers, as well as other lost techniques. 283 342 345 346

Rise against regional rivals

The sect's reputation rose after Chen Fei drew with Immortal Cloud Sword Sect True Inheritance Second Shen Tu Cang. His later strength enabled him to confront Sword Return Pavilion directly and retrieve further resources and inheritances. 220 390 394 396

Sea Peak Region expansion

The Yuan Chen Sword Sect migrated to the Sea Peak Region alongside the Immortal Cloud Sword Sect, the Yu Family, and Chenshui Island residents. Sinking Water Pavilion joined as the Sinking Water Lineage, while the sect established a new Mountain Gate and city. 463 465

Under Chen Fei, the sect became a leading force in the Sea Peak Region. Its growing prestige drew a sustained influx of applicants, while Chen Fei's Shadow Clone provided direct instruction to elders and disciples. 482 495 500

Qian Yan City ascent

After relocating to Qian Yan City, the sect initially avoided conflicts over nearby Secret Realms because its stored resources could sustain it for a long period. 663 664

Chen Fei's breakthrough to the Mountain Sea Realm and his killing of two veteran Mountain Sea Realm experts transformed the sect into one of Qian Yan City's three major powers. Recruitment and Guest Elder screening became far stricter afterward. 684 686 691
