Jiraiya's disciple and the Third Great Ninja War

Minato trained under Jiraiya alongside Duke. Duke's Ice Release observations helped Minato realize that Sage Mode's natural energy could strengthen his body enough to support Wind Release nature transformation in the Rasengan; Minato immediately committed himself to Sage Mode training. 30

During the Third Great Ninja War, Minato led a four-man vanguard squad with Duke, Shibi Aburame, and Chōza Akimichi. The unit was intended to penetrate deep into Hidden Stone's rear, and Minato fostered a cooperative atmosphere while directing its missions. 183

His combat performance on the Land of Earth and Land of Lightning fronts established the legend of the Yellow Flash. Using Flying Thunder God coordinates and specially marked kunai, he could eliminate enemies with near-instant attacks and tear through large formations. 187 200

Fourth Hokage

On the night of Naruto's birth, Minato protected Kushina and Naruto while confronting Masked Obito and the Nine-Tails. He redirected the Nine-Tails' Tailed Beast Ball away from Konoha with a space-time barrier, then fought Obito separately. 209 210
