Background / History

Seele was once a child held as an experimental subject in a research institute. She experienced artificial pleasant-day illusions before undergoing daily experiments, while researchers treated her coldly. Her friend Vivian's absence and the disappearance of other children from the orphanage led Seele to realize that those selected for experiments were not returning. After a failed escape attempt, she was informed that she would undergo an experiment the following night. These experiences transformed her loneliness and helplessness into anger and a desire for freedom 459.

Later, Seele's exceptional Honkai Energy aptitude was discovered. Su Qing'an feared that her potential could consume her with darkness, and chose to show her more of the world's beauty instead 274.

Personality

Seele is initially naive, lonely, and powerless, but adapts quickly to her circumstances. She learns to act proactively to avoid punishment and becomes determined not to surrender even when afraid or in pain 274 286.

After becoming a Herrscher, Seele is emotionally fragile and ashamed of her changed state. She fears being hated if others see her as she is, yet she also develops a strong willingness to endure suffering for those she cares about 367 379.

Her ordinary behavior retains an innocent, occasionally mischievous side. She plays games, acts spoiled around Fu Hua, and feels lonely when Su Qing'an is absent 374. Discovery of Her Aptitude

Her Honkai Energy aptitude is revealed to be greater than Fu Hua's. Su Qing'an responds by taking Seele out with Fu Hua and trying to anchor her to ordinary beauty and happiness 274.

Transformation into the Sixth Herrscher

Seele becomes the Herrscher of Death and struggles with the pain, shame, and identity crisis brought by her Authority. After an attempted suicide fails because of her self-healing, Mei reaches out to her and offers a purpose: helping Su Qing'an 366 367.

Stigmata and Sea of Quantum Experiments

Seele volunteers to assist the Stigmata project despite the danger to herself. Mei's subsequent experiments investigate her Herrscher capabilities, marrow, quantum-state connection, and possible link to the soul 379 380.
