At first, Arthas and Tyrel's guards had been able to handle things on their own. But as they ventured deeper into the village, more and more Undead appeared, forcing the High Elf Paladins and Priests to join the battle as well.
After the High Elf Paladins and Priests took action, they discovered that Holy Light seemed highly effective against the villagers who had become Undead.
When they reached the center of the village, they found a group of Dwarves using muskets and cannons to attack the Undead.
After helping the Dwarves clear out all the Undead, Arthas stepped forward and asked, "I am Prince Arthas of the Kingdom of Lordaeron. What happened here, Dwarves?"
"So it is Prince Arthas. I am Dagar. My clansmen and I live in this village. For some reason, all the villagers turned into Undead, and now they are everywhere in the village. We had no choice but to take up arms and fight back," explained the Dwarf leader named Dagar.
Because they were allies in the Alliance, Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes, and High Elves often moved to one another's kingdoms to live. Thus, it was not strange to find Dwarves in a Human village.
"All right. We need your gunpowder. There is a barn at the other end of the village, and we must tear it down."
Arthas directly brought the Dwarves into the group. Among all the races of the Alliance, Dwarves were undoubtedly the most skilled at using fire, as they had begun using gunpowder to aid their mining long ago.
All the Humans in the village had turned into Undead, yet the Dwarves were unharmed. Tyrel found this puzzling and stepped forward to ask, "Dagar, did you Dwarves not eat the grain from the village?"
"We ate the same food as the Humans
