War Bow +2! (Third Update)
Soren needs ranged attack capabilities.
In the past, he often participated in group activities, but now he mainly works alone. Wizard have too few Spell Slot, and it's unrealistic for non-high-level Wizard to rely on Spell Slot for ranged attacks. Soren used to use Heavy Crossbow, but now he finds bows and arrows to be more suitable for him. However, this equipment has a limitation: using War Bow requires carrying Quiver, and in close combat, the bow and arrows must be carried on his person.
In that situation, a single roll could be fatal; one can imagine Tumble Evasion while carrying War Bow on one's back.
In some ways, bows and arrows are indeed not as convenient as Heavy Crossbow!
However, Soren had no such concerns because he possessed a piece of equipment he had never had before: the Battle Master's Gloves. With this equipment, he could switch weapons at will, using the crossbow as easily as the Heavy Crossbow and arrow. He could take out and put away the bow and arrow at any time, then draw his Scimitar for close combat. In other words, this piece of equipment solved the problem of Soren's previous inconvenience in using the bow and arrow, and perfectly resolved the issue of the bow and arrow's performance being affected in close combat.
Soren discovered another direction in combat, but he was not in a hurry to change his fighting style.
The reason is simple.
Using a bow and arrow requires considerable skill and multiple Feat. Currently, he only has high attributes but no Feat. He might be able to deal with ordinary people, but he would have a hard time hitting enemies of higher-level professions. To fight with a bow and arrow, one must at least master the Feat of Precise Shot, Moving Shot, and Hawk Eye.
"Very interesting."
Soren handed the Elven War Bow back to the Drow Warrior Boss before him, nodding slightly and saying, "Your suggestion is quite good; it is indeed of some use to me."
Dark Blade - Andri bowed slightly, but did not reach out to take the Elven War Bow. Instead, he said, "It would be my honor, Your Excellency. I believe you are more suited to use this War Bow, and you will surely be able to unleash its full power in the future!"
Please accept this!
Soren smiled slightly upon hearing this, and without any further formalities, nodded and put it away.
A Tier 2 extraordinary War Bow.
Furthermore, it's Elven Race War Bow. While its value doesn't match Legendary Equipment, its rarity is still quite high. Currently, War Bow, shortbows, Longbow, etc., are mostly +1 Supernatural Item due to a lack of special wood for crafting. This is similar to Heavy Crossbow; Tier 2 extraordinary ranged weapons are relatively rare, and third-tier extraordinary ranged weapons are even rarer than others. The highest-level crossbow Soren has ever seen is merely a +3 Heart-Piercing Bow. He's heard of Legendary crossbows before, but he's never actually encountered one.
The increased power of bows and crossbows mainly comes from the arrows and bolts.
Item Type: Elven War Bow [+2]
Item Level: [Tier 2 Extraordinary Item]
Item Description: This is an Elven War Bow with a certain history. It was crafted from wood from the War Treant and took three years to complete, possessing toughness and durability far exceeding other War Bow. The surface of the War Bow is engraved with strange patterns, a sign of enchantment, though it's unknown why the maker didn't finish the enchanting process. There is a repaired sword mark on the bottom of the War Bow. Its history is unknown, but it remains a powerful Elven War Bow.
Equipment requirement: 12 or more Strength [Strength requirement +2].
Weapon effect: Hardened bow, rapid fire, +2 penetration, +1 Armor Piercing.
This Elven War Bow seems to have some history.
Soren glanced at it briefly, his expression slightly surprised. If this Elven War Bow were fully completed, it should have its own unique name. However, it seemed to have been left unfinished for some reason. He touched the engravings on the bow; they did indeed look like enchantment marks, but since it was incomplete, it was merely a Tier 2 Elven War Bow.
"This weapon is not bad; it even has Armor Piercing properties."
Soren glanced at it briefly, thinking to himself, "The power of an arrow mainly depends on the arrow itself. Although these Overseas Islands don't have Explosive Arrow or Frost Arrow, they do have a large number of poison-coating tools. As long as we wipe out that native tribe, we can directly poison arrows in the future, and mass-producing Poisoned Arrow shouldn't be a problem."
The Blowgun used by the natives can reach a transcendental level of +3.
If their poisoning techniques were used to craft arrows, they might be able to create +3 Poisoned Arrow, which, combined with the Elven War Bow, would be quite formidable.
It's definitely more useful than many Spell!
By now it was broad daylight, and many people were already up. Just as Soren was about to say something, he saw a One-Eyed pirate approach. The pirate cautiously walked to Soren's side and respectfully said, "Your Excellency, everything is ready!"
"Hmm." Soren nodded in response.
He glanced at the Drow Warrior Leader before him and said in a deep voice, "Launch the attack tonight, and have your men prepare!"
So fast?
Dark Blade - Andri hesitated for a moment, but nodded nonetheless, saying, "Yes. I'll arrange it right away."
Soren smiled with satisfaction, then waved over a subordinate, whispered a few instructions in his ear, and then spoke a few words to the One-Eyed. Immediately, the two ran off in different directions. Soon, the camp began to move, and all the elite pirates under the various pirate leaders gathered, but instead of heading into the jungle, they all went to the port to board the Warship outside. A River Goddess on this island flows into the sea, allowing access to the native tribes from the estuary.
Inside the room.
When Soren walked in, Vivian was already dressed and waiting for him. Seeing him enter, the little girl smiled sweetly, her expression excited, and exclaimed in a clear voice, "Brother! Let's go! Let's wipe out all those nasty natives!"
Today, Vivian is wearing a black princess dress.
I don't know why, but lately my little girl has been wearing black and white princess dresses; she rarely wears her other clothes anymore.
Perhaps because he had gradually grown accustomed to the little girl's changing attire, Soren didn't find it strange. He simply nodded slightly and instructed, "Have you remembered everything I taught you? The first principle for Spellcaster is self-preservation; remember not to be too impulsive! Our target is those Spirits. Once we've eliminated the Spirits, we can deal with the other natives at any time."
The Spirits is the key to everything.
For both Soren and Vivian, killing the Spirits would increase their Divine Power. Once the Spirits were eliminated, the natives' threat level would be halved, allowing them to be dealt with again at any time. Furthermore, Soren had already accumulated 9 points of Divine Rank; by killing just one more Spirits possessing Divinity, he could accumulate 10 points and gain the [Faint Divinity] Divine Rank. At that point, all of Soren's attributes would increase by 1, equivalent to an additional 6 points to his total attributes.
This is a huge boost to combat power!
Upon hearing Soren's instructions, Vivian nodded obediently, then asked cheerfully, "Brother! When are we leaving?!"
"They're eager to show off their skills!"
I don't know why.
Soren sensed that the little girl had become much more warlike than before, but he quite liked this change. As the Time of Troubles drew ever closer, the pressure on Soren grew, especially since the future enemy might very well be Deity, and he might not be able to protect Vivian at all times. Therefore, giving the little girl more self-defense capabilities was definitely the right thing to do. Battle also requires courage; if one lacks even the courage to face Slaughter, then battle becomes a joke.
Soren nodded slightly and said in a deep voice, "We'll set off soon; we'll cross by sea!"
