Dragonhide Armor +1
The night passed quickly.
Soren got up very early the next day because the third batch of supplies from Serpent Island had arrived. Serpent Island was now the Transit Station for the overseas bases, a very safe place where a killer Killer Whale, about to mutate into Ocean Monster, was kept. The Killer Whale was now almost the size of Blue Whale; any slightly smaller ship couldn't withstand a single ramming from it. Soren had designated the waters near Serpent Island as a restricted area, fearing a sneak attack from Pirate King Asroder.
Any ship not belonging to Soren in that area of the sea is at risk of being attacked by this Mutated Killer Whale!
About two weeks ago, a merchant ship from Sunken Ship Overseas, seemingly from a shipwrecked vessel, passed by. Whether it was a genuine merchant ship or a spy of Pirate King Asroder, it was unclear. In any case, it was rammed and sunk by Mutated Killer Whale, leaving no survivors. Since then, the others have learned their lesson; only bloody Slaughter can make them understand that Soren wasn't joking. Serpent Island stores a large amount of supplies, much of which is directly supplied to overseas bases, reducing travel time.
It's also easier to avoid being noticed by others, since there are too many intertwined forces in Port Tyler Tyre!
They had barely stepped out of the camp when Dark Blade Andri, the Boss of the Drow Warrior, was waiting ahead.
"Your Throat Cutter Slitter!"
Seeing Soren approach, he quickly bowed slightly and said, "I've already sent those Dragon Egg to the Priest. Hatching shouldn't be a problem, but whether they can be successfully tamed is hard to say. Because we've been away from the Underdark for too long, there are very few people in the tribe who know how to tame Basilisk anymore."
"But we will definitely do our best!"
Soren glanced at him coldly upon hearing this, then said, "Hmm. I understand."
After saying that, he left immediately.
Only the Drow Warrior Boss remained standing in place. Dark Blade - Andri looked somewhat nervous, hesitated for a moment, and then didn't immediately follow. Instead, he beckoned over a Drow Ranger, frowning, and said, "He's getting impatient with us! Haven't those damned women come to a decision yet? At least they should give us their opinion, right? I'm worried the Throat Cutter will become increasingly dissatisfied with us!"
The young Drow Ranger looked tense and whispered, "Recently, many important defense positions have been taken over by those pirates. We can barely get involved in the warehouse! Those pirates are clearly trying to prove they're no less capable than us, and I'm afraid we'll be replaced if this continues! Besides, those pirates are all humans, while we are all Drow. I'm also worried that if this continues, the Throat Cutter will..."
At this point, the young Drow Ranger paused for a moment.
The two men exchanged a glance and shook their heads. Dark Blade - Andri frowned and pondered for a moment, then suddenly gritted his teeth and said, "These damned females are so stubborn! Even though we're living under their roof, they still act like they're from the underworld!"
The Drow Ranger, upon hearing this, wore a thoughtful expression. He suddenly lowered his voice and said, "Lord Dark Blade, the Drow Warrior Guard is very supportive of you! And your reputation is no less than any Priest. It's just that because they are female, their status has always been higher than yours! I think that now that we are gradually integrating into the Surface World, perhaps some customs should be abandoned. As males within our tribe, we bear more responsibility, but we don't have the corresponding status."
"It's time to make some changes!..."
"If Lord Dark Blade is willing to step forward, I believe many Drow Warrior and Ranger will be willing to support you!..."
silence.
Dark Blade - Andri fell silent upon hearing this, but a glint of light flashed in his eyes, seemingly burning with intensity. Within the Drow, male Drow held a very low status, wielding virtually no power. Even within the faith of the Dark Maiden, female Drow firmly maintained their dominant position. This was the culmination of thousands of years of tradition. While the male drow were suppressed, they weren't without resentment; it was simply that the customs of their tribe were deeply ingrained, and the rule of the female Drow remained unshakeable!
But now that they've arrived on the Surface World, perhaps they have a chance to make some changes?
In the Underdark, if a male Drow from any clan were to rise to power, he might be ridiculed by other Drow clans, or even seen as challenging the dominance of the female drow, thus incurring punishment from the Spider Queen, or even being besieged by other drow clans. However, this is now the Surface World, and no one will attack them for this reason.
A cold glint appeared in Dark Blade - Andri's eyes as he slowly tightened his grip on the hilt of his sword. He said in a deep voice, "Give them another chance! They don't know the strength of the Throat Cutter, but we can't let our people be dragged into Abyss of no return!"
Soren's methods were too ruthless.
He has always given the impression of being ruthless and decisive, Dark Blade - Andri is very worried about what terrible things might happen after this Throat Cutter Slitter runs out of patience!
Wharf and port.
Soren had just arrived at the port when he saw the Lady of Fortune pastor conducting an on-site inspection ahead. Gold was still dressed in her usual jewel-encrusted attire, like a dignified and luxurious noblewoman, but unfortunately, she looked a little vulgar. If one had to describe the favorite color of the Goddess of Wealth's followers in one word, then 'gold' would definitely be their favorite color.
"Your Mightiness."
One-Eyed was already waiting nearby. Upon seeing Soren, he immediately handed him a form and said, "This is the goods that have been delivered. And here is a message from the Temple of the Sea."
"Hmm." Soren reached out and took a look, then immediately said, "Reduce the supplies allocated to the Drow by half, and use the rest as a reward for the Eastern craftsmen."
After saying that, he opened the letter sent by the Temple of the Sea.
After glancing at it a few times, Soren frowned and then silently put it away.
"Your Mightiness!"
Jin approached with a broad smile, toying with the Agate Ring on her index finger. She said slowly, "It seems we can sign the agreement now? We've set our sights on that piece of land, from the hillside in front all the way here. We're willing to buy it at a price that will absolutely satisfy you. Furthermore, if you have no further questions, the City of Wealth will soon send people to assist you with the construction of the port and docks."
What a huge appetite!
Soren glanced at the spot she pointed to and found that the location Jin had chosen was quite cunning. She had carved out nearly a thousand acres of land in one go, from the port to the border over there, almost taking away a third of the most useful land. Moreover, by pointing like that, she had essentially included a third of the port itself, which made Soren hesitate slightly.
"Please don't be in such a hurry to refuse!"
Jin had been secretly observing Soren's expression, and noticing Soren's apparent disagreement, he immediately spoke up, "The fleet from the City of Wealth departed yesterday. Perhaps after witnessing our strength, Your Excellency will change your mind. Money possesses the most powerful magic; I believe we will not disappoint you."
As she said this, a confident and playful smile involuntarily appeared on her lips.
Soren paused for a moment upon hearing this, then put the letter away. This priestess of the Goddess of Wealth was even more well-informed than he was; the fleet from the City of Wealth had already set sail yesterday. Her words were tantamount to demonstrating her power. The foundation of Church Deity had stood for thousands of years was indeed far superior to his, Pirate King had just established his rule.
Camp warehouse.
Soren had just returned when his Half-Elf first mate was already waiting for him.
"Your Mightiness."
Upon seeing him, the Half-Elf first mate bowed slightly and handed him a finely crafted Leather Armor, saying excitedly, "We've had the craftsmen make over ten pieces of Dragonhide Armor; this is one we just finished today. I've already done a quick test, and its protective capabilities are no less than Studded Leather Armor, while being much lighter and easier to wear."
"Please take a look!"
Is it done?
Soren smiled upon hearing this, took the armor, and glanced at it. He then weighed it in his hand and said with satisfaction, "Not bad! But this seems to be Dragonhide Armor made from Wyvern. Where's the other part?"
Upon hearing this, the Half-Elf first mate quietly moved closer and whispered, "The other batch is more difficult to produce and may take some more time, but the quality should be better than this batch."
Soren nodded and said, "Have them finish as soon as possible. We might have to clear out the local natives in the area soon."
A Blood Frenzy smile crept across the Half-Elf first mate's face. He nodded emphatically and said, "Rest assured, Your Excellency. The mission will definitely be completed within this month."
Item type: Dragonhide Armor [+1]
Item Level: [Tier 1 Supernatural Item]
Item Description: This is a leather Leather Armor made from the Dragon Hide of Wyvern. Compared to other armors, it is more sturdy and lightweight, and offers considerable protection. Some of the Pete the hide of Draconic are retained in the Leather Armor, giving it good durability against fire, ice, and acid, making it less prone to damage from Dragonhide Armor attacks. While the craftsmanship is somewhat rough and doesn't reach the highest level, it has the potential for enchanting.
Equipment requirements: 8 or more Strength [Because it's Dragon Hide, it's heavier than other Leather Armor].
Equipment effect: Subspecies Dragon Hide, Tough, Protection Rating +5.
Weapon Special Effect: [Subspecies Dragon Hide], This Dragonhide Armor possesses the protective capabilities of Draconic Dragon Hide, granting direct immunity to any attack with an intensity of 5 or less, and reducing damage taken from most attacks.
Weapon Characteristics: [Toughness], This Dragonhide Armor is extremely tough, making it difficult to break when subjected to attacks. Strong acids and flames also have a hard time damaging it.
Dragon Hide is definitely something else!
Soren held the Dragonhide Armor +1 in his hand and nodded in satisfaction. Its protective capabilities were in no way inferior to Studded Leather Armor. Using it to equip his subordinates would definitely increase their combat power by more than a little bit.
Unfortunately, Soren cannot wear armor.
Because wearing armor increases the chance of spell failure for Wizard, especially heavy Full Plate Armor, Spell failure rate can rise to over 50%. The only advanced class that can easily cast spells while wearing armor is the [Eldritch Knight], who possess a unique Feat called [Armored Spellcasting].
(Eldritch Knight: Possesses the feats Feat Vigilance and Iron Will, and the Feat Combat Casting and Skill Focus [Focus]. The trait allows casting spells while wearing any armor.) [Note: One of the high-tier hero-level advanced classes, Gish advancement system.]
It's practically impossible for Soren to wear armor.
Eldritch Knight are too few in number. It would be difficult for him to learn the [Armored Spellcasting] Feat from them, so he can only try to obtain a Legendary enchanted robe in the future. Legendary Wizard Robe also have strong protective capabilities, and can even be directly enchanted with Energy Protection Field without affecting his agility at all.
A busy day has come to an end.
As evening fell, after finishing his many tasks, Soren took a walk around the camp.
He also took the opportunity to check on the Wizard Saruman's research progress. The land reclamation was almost complete, and planting would begin soon. The fertilizer supply had to keep up, otherwise this year's harvest would definitely be unsatisfactory.
The camp is now mostly free of weeds, and the tidy roads are fairly well-connected. The Wizard Saruman's Laboratory is in the northern corner. He seems to enjoy studying the plants in the tropical jungle.
Soren soon arrived at a secluded courtyard.
There were specially set up Spell Trap nearby, which Soren easily found using his Rogue's intuition. At the same time, Saruman's warning traps also detected Soren's arrival.
"Welcome, sir!"
The courtyard gate opened automatically, revealing a simple Alchemy Magic Circle. Saruman's voice then emanated from within. "What you require is almost complete."
"I'm currently conducting an experiment and cannot leave at the moment. You may come in directly."
Soren glanced around before entering the courtyard.
Upon entering, he saw some strange plants, some of which looked a bit like pitcher plants, as well as many other plants that were difficult to identify. These plants were planted around the perimeter of the yard, enclosed by a special fence, with a sign in front of each plant recording the planting date, etc.
"This is?..."
Soren frowned slightly and muttered, "Man-Eating Flower? He planted these plants?"
It must be those strange plants.
Although they are different sizes and lack the liveliness of some other creatures, they should be the Man-Eating Plant found in the jungle.
The difference is...
The creatures in the jungle looked like living Hit Points, while what lay before them were just a bunch of plants.
"Your Mightiness!"
Saruman emerged from the room, bowed slightly in an inviting gesture, and said, "I have completed the initial stages of what you requested."
He saw Soren examining the plants, his expression shifted slightly, and he then feigned nonchalance, saying, "These Man-Eating Plant are quite interesting; I'm studying them."
"Oh, right."
"These plants are using the fertilizer you need, and you can see they are growing very well."
Soren keenly noticed Saruman's slight unease, but he didn't ask any questions, after all, their relationship was merely one of employment. Wizard had peculiar research interests, and as long as it wasn't dangerous, it was all within Soren's tolerance. He had dealt with Necromancy before, and compared to those Wizard Wizard spent their days studying corpses, Saruman's little hobby was nothing. So he got up and went into the room, immediately seeing a large pile of bottles and jars, as well as many glass test tubes.
In an instant.
It actually gave him the feeling of being in a chemistry Laboratory.
Alchemy.
A field encompassing potions, enchanting, engineering, Magical Construct, and even Soul Shaping falls within the scope of Alchemy.
It belongs to a very profound field of research.
Inside the Laboratory, three apprentices were busy at work, and next to them stood a bulky Clay Golem. The Clay Golem looked very stiff, as if it had no soul, and simply stood there holding a strange tool.
"Please take a look, Your Excellency!"
Saruman produced a box containing granules that smelled like urea. He stroked his beard and smiled, "This is what you requested. I've tested it; it works on any plant."
Soren picked one up and examined it.
This fertilizer is a little different from the one he remembers, but it's not too far off. Using Guano to convert into fertilizer isn't a very advanced process.
He gently placed it back and asked in a deep voice, "How's the yield?"
"This...!" Saruman's face immediately showed some embarrassment upon hearing this, and his voice lowered as he said, "That's about all we can produce for a day."
Soren frowned and said, "No. Too little!"
How many can be in this box?
The amount of land he needed to cultivate was enormous, requiring nearly a thousand Slave to cultivate it, and this output was simply insufficient to meet the needs of the cultivated land.
"I know!"
Upon hearing this, Saruman quickly replied, "I'm trying to modify the Alchemy tools; if successful, production will increase significantly."
"Hmm." Soren nodded, patted him on the shoulder, and instructed, "Increase production as quickly as possible. My requirement is not only to meet the needs of the arable land here, but also to make it a commodity."
I think you should understand.
Saruman nodded earnestly and assured him, "At the latest, by the end of the month, production will meet your requirements."
(P. S.: The camp has grown to almost the size of a town, so it needs a name. Fututu can't think of a suitable name, so I'm asking you all for suggestions. If anyone has a name in mind, please leave a comment in the book review section.) (To be continued~^~)
