Playing Dirty
A deafening rumble resounded.
Soren seemed to sense the tremors of the explosion. Immediately, the Vampire followers before him sprang into action. Some drew their weapons, preparing to scout the situation, while others Dodge in panic. Among these Vampire was a woman, and a rather young one at that. She was dressed in the typical attire of a noblewoman, her expression one of fear, seemingly lacking combat experience. The Black-robed Priest, however, remained calm. He gave a few orders in a low voice, sending men out to investigate, while simultaneously drawing a sharp blade to bleed the captured Eyeless Cultist.
For any Church dedicated to Deity, fanatics are the most important asset!
Cultivating a fanatic is no easy task; no organization would easily abandon its internal fanatics, not even the cult of Church of Evil God gods. Soren had never been defeated in his conquests, from slaying the King of the Swamp to successfully Dragon Slayer, and then the final battle against the Pirate King Asroder. After so many battles, the number of pirates under Soren's command who were fanatically devoted to him was not large, but these people were the core foundation of his rule over the South Coast. As long as these fanatical elite pirates were not depleted, he could Juantu no matter what the situation.
Under normal circumstances.
The number of fanatics within a Church of Deity is at most one in a thousand; this proportion is even smaller in other factions.
Soren's elite Guard currently numbers only about a hundred men.
Less than a third of them were fanatical admirers of him; these were people who had experienced the battles against the King of the Swamp, the Dragon Slayer, and the final battle on the South Coast.
For the Eyeless Organization, a high-ranking fanatic is not someone they can easily give up!
Just as the Black-robed Priest was about to slit the throat of the sacrifice, the high-ranking Rogue had been hiding in the shadows finally couldn't sit still any longer.
A distorted shadow appeared, and the high-ranking Rogue instantly traversed Plane space, appearing behind the Black-robed Priest using a ' Shadow Jump '.
A sharp, cold glint appeared!
The high-ranking Rogue stabbed at the opponent's vital heart in an instant, but all that came out was the sound of metal clashing.
Clang!
The Black-robed Priest's robes were torn, revealing Full Plate Armor forged from Steel. Priest was simply another name for a female priest; their fighting style differed slightly. However, Priest, like other priests, could use Divine Magic and wore Full Plate Armor. These individuals were practically like steel plates, and not just any steel plates, but steel plates capable of using Divine Magic.
The short sword failed to pierce the Full Plate Armor worn by the Black-robed Priest. The high-ranking Rogue, unperturbed, twisted and slashed, another flash of cold light appearing as it struck the sacrifice's shackles.
Click!
A crisp snapping sound rang out as the Steel shackles were severed.
"Adamantine weapon?!"
Hidden in the darkness, Soren was startled and shocked, then thought to himself, "To directly sever the shackles forged from Steel, it seems that only top-tier Legendary Equipment or Adamantine weapons could do that! That light just now didn't seem to be from a top-tier Legendary weapon, so the possibility of it being Adamantine weapon is extremely high!"
Roar!
An angry growl rang out.
The captured man on the altar, once his shackles were broken, let out a roar and charged directly at someone next to him.
Click.
The powerful impact caved in a Vampire's chest, while the man instantly snatched the sword and beheaded the initially panicked noblewoman.
A chaotic hack-and-slashing frenzy ensued.
The man appeared to be a high-ranking Warrior also served as Barbarian, and in the blink of an eye, he slaughtered three or five Vampire like a Slaughter machine.
Many of these Vampire look like members of this noble family.
The sounds of battle could be heard from the entrance.
After the high-ranking Rogue broke through the Steel shackles, he launched a series of attacks, a storm-like onslaught that left the Black-robed Priest with no chance to cast Divine Magic.
We cannot give the Spellcaster a chance, or the consequences will be unimaginable!
Clang clang.
Surprisingly, the Black-robed Priest managed to parry the fierce attacks of the high-ranking Rogue. His weapons were a shield and a scepter, and he held his own in a direct confrontation.
Battle Cleric!
This is a high-ranking priest who has received specialized combat training, and probably also learned Shield Mastery techniques.
Another cold glint appeared.
Soren finally saw the face of the high-ranking Rogue clearly; the man's eyes were covered by black cloth, seemingly empty, and it was unclear how he could see his surroundings. As the man Frenzied Attack the Black-robed Priest before him, Soren also locked onto another weapon that faintly reflected a golden light—a small Dagger, which did not seem to be his usual weapon.
It really is a Adamantine weapon!
This incredibly expensive metal is rare even in the Underdark. Forging large weapons is prohibitively expensive, and even forging a Dagger like this would be incredibly costly. A small amount of Adamantine can forge a +1 Supernatural Equipment, and further quantification would result in a +2 or +3 level. This Dagger is at least a +3 Adamantine weapon, and judging from its appearance, the proportion of adamantium added is definitely not small.
A group of Eyeless Cultist stormed in.
These creatures are easy to identify because many of them are missing an eye, a sign of a depraved Profane Ritual.
Upon completion, they will receive an additional blasphemy bonus.
The effect is similar to Soren's Divine Blessing. Many rituals that sacrifice Demon can also gain this blasphemy bonus. The highest level is the Crest on the body of Fallen Witch, which is the ultimate Profane Ritual.
Soren began to move.
The battle between Vampire and the Eyeless seems to be evenly matched. Dark Creature have innate attribute bonuses, Eyeless's advantage in desecration after falling is not obvious.
However, Soren had no interest in getting involved in this melee; his targets were the high-ranking Rogue and the black-robed priest.
The Adamantine Dagger was of great value to him!
The Priest is key to the spread of faith by the Deity, and killing this Black-robed Priest would severely weaken the Vampire God Child's power here. Before launching the attack, Soren tore a strip of cloth from his body and tied it over his eyes. However, he didn't completely blindfold himself; it was merely a formality.
--"Shadow Jump!"
--"Shadow Assassination!"
--"Sword Momentum: Decapitation!"
Soren's figure suddenly appeared behind the Black-robed Priest. For the Black-robed Priest, who was already enduring the attacks of the Eyeless, Soren's sneak attack was undoubtedly adding insult to injury. He couldn't even Dodge or parry, and died under the combined attack of the two high-ranking Rogue. Soren's Legendary Scimitar, Icetail, directly severed his head. With a gushing of blood, the headless corpse of the Black-robed Priest crashed to the ground.
The sudden appearance of Soren surprised even the Eyeless.
However, after the Black-robed Priest was killed, and especially after seeing the black cloth covering Soren's eyes, he couldn't help but relax a little.
But that momentary relaxation can be extremely fatal!
With a cold expression, Soren swung his blade forward again, piercing the heart of the blind man in an instant, much to the Eyeless's astonishment.
Clatter
Soren casually tossed aside the blindfold covering his eyes, then twisted it with his other hand, shattering the enemy's heart. The Eyeless's incredulous expression remained on his face, but his body had already lost the breath of Hit Points.
Bang.
The two corpses fell to the ground one after the other, and Soren swiftly pulled the Adamantine Dagger from the Eyeless's body.
A well-thought-out strategy can make it easier to eliminate the enemy.
Soren landed a successful blow, killing two high-level professionals, and then instantly activated ' Hide from Gaze ' to re-enter Stealth mode.
The melee continues.
But what followed was his hunting time all to himself!
"Not good!"
When a loud explosion rang out, the Young Female Cleric's expression changed drastically, and she immediately moved closer to the source of the flames.
Paladin, Rogue, and Ranger -errant soon appeared as well.
The commotion alerted many people, and even the town's Guard quickly approached. However, it would take them time to assemble, so one shouldn't have too high expectations for the fighting strength of Guard in a remote town.
"They are Eyeless!"
The Ranger was the first to rush into the mansion engulfed in flames. He glanced at the nearby corpses and said in a low voice, "They attacked this place! Something's wrong! Everyone be careful!"
He bent down and examined another corpse, saying in a deep voice, "It's Vampire! There are Vampire here!"
"Proceed with caution!"
The Paladin gave a low growl, drew a shield to protect the others, and said in a deep voice, "There might be their leader down there."
"There's an Evil aura here!"
"It's highly likely Vampire's lair; they've corrupted the nobles here!"
The group quickly formed a standard battle formation and then cautiously advanced inside.
However, the deeper they went, the more surprised they became, because the place was full of corpses; there wasn't a single living person in sight.
Moreover, the manner of death of these corpses was very strange. They even saw a Vampire's corpse and a Eyeless follower dead together, seemingly killed at the same time.
Their methods of killing were quite sophisticated; many were killed with a single blow!
"There's a master!"
The Rogue's expression was serious as he muttered, "He's probably a Legendary- level expert!"
The Young Female Cleric seemed to be deep in thought upon hearing this.
The others exchanged glances and quickened their pace, for they had guessed something.
at last.
They saw Soren, who was wiping his Scimitar on a corpse. Upon seeing the group, he showed no surprise, but instead ran his hand over the body a few times and said in a low voice, "All done."
"However, there should still be a few that slipped through the net!"
