A Battle on the Blade's Edge

The others continued to harass the Superior Construct Golem.

Soren circled it incessantly, searching for a weak point. Energy cores are usually placed in the most heavily protected areas, and this Golem was unlikely to have its energy core in its head. The most probable location was its chest. Because no matter the angle of attack, the chest is the easiest place to protect; Superior Construct Golem could simply hold its shield or greatsword across its chest to block most attacks. Therefore, its energy core was most likely inside the Alloy Steel armor on its chest.

"Draw its attack away!"

Soren turned his gaze to the Eastern Dancer beside Soren. She was the most agile and nimble among them, and while she wasn't particularly effective against a plate-like enemy, she was one of the few capable of baiting a counterattack from a Eastern Dancer -Superior Construct Golem. Soren needed her to create an opening; otherwise, that shield lying horizontally was too inconvenient.

--"Blur Dance!"

--"Moon Step!"

The Eastern Dancer reacted quickly. Her tall figure suddenly leaped lightly as if in a dance, her silhouette gradually becoming blurred. As she glided to the side of the Superior Construct Golem, she suddenly swung her Dagger and stabbed it.

Clang!

Unsurprisingly, the Superior Construct Golem blocked the attack with its heavy shield; in [Expertise] mode, its defensive capabilities were increased by at least three levels.

The giant sword swept down.

The Eastern Dancer showed no worry. With a light twist of her body, she lightly touched the ground with her toes and dodged with a technique similar to the Flash Step.

In that instant!

Soren, who had been waiting for his chance, finally made his move, his figure disappearing into the shadows.

--"Hide from Gaze!"

Soren vanished from his spot and reappeared out of thin air beside the Superior Construct Golem, or rather, appeared directly within the Superior Construct Golem's arms.

Rewind time by half a second!

The Superior Construct Golem blocked the Eastern Dancer's attack with its heavy shield, then swung its greatsword in a sweeping motion.

This moment.

It slightly raised its shield, and in the light of the nearby torches, the shield cast a shadow upon itself.

Soren's figure leaped out from the shadows!

That's a crazy thing to do.

This is like walking a tightrope, no, it's more like dancing on the edge of a knife!

Soren appeared right next to the Superior Construct Golem, its cold Alloy Steel armor touching his arm. In this situation, if the Superior Construct Golem reacted even slightly faster, it could instantly close its arms and trap Soren, the immense force enough to strangle him to death in its steel arms.

But!

Soren is still a step ahead.

After appearing directly next to the Superior Construct Golem using [Shadow Jump], a pale golden light instantly appeared in his palm. Then, he saw the Adamantine Dagger accurately pierce into the Superior Construct Golem's chest. Accompanied by crackling flashes of fire, the Puppet Golem in front of him trembled, and then its arms fell limply to its sides.

Soren's figure landed.

His chest heaved slightly, as if he had expended a great deal of energy in that brief moment. Such a risky move was still somewhat terrifying, but it seemed he had successfully hit the enemy's energy core.

If he misses the enemy's vital point, he will probably have no choice but to use [Shadow Jump] again to escape the enemy's attack range.

"Finally dead?"

The Dwarf Heavy Warrior plopped down on the ground, panting, and muttered, "This thing is probably even more powerful than the Dwarf defenders! No wonder the Arcane Empire was Destruction!"

No one paid any attention to what he said.

After resting for a moment, Soren slowly stood up and said, "There should be some loot inside. Go and collect it."

Upon hearing Soren's words, the Dwarf Heavy Warrior quickly scrambled to his feet and strode inside, exclaiming, "Let's go! Let's see what good stuff is inside!"

The others exchanged glances and followed suit.

As normal Adventurer, they are more concerned with how much benefit they can obtain.

Soren stood still. He was now the Pirate King ruled the three seas, and his wealth was comparable to that of the ruler of a small kingdom. The only thing that truly attracted him here was the [Anti-Detection Cloak], which was undoubtedly Artifact for Rogue.

The other one standing still is Eastern Dancer.

She seemed quite interested in the Superior Construct Golem before her, whispering, "Is this the craftsmanship of the Arcane Empire? Truly astonishing ingenuity!"

Soren ignored her.

He reached for some tools and began dismantling the Superior Construct Golem before him.

Although Soren wasn't a traditional Wizard and didn't know much about Alchemy, many of the components were of the Arcane Empire craftsmanship, which would definitely be useful for Goria's research. This thing's Challenge Rating was probably close to level 20, and the reason they were able to deal with it so easily was mainly because the enemy lacked energy.

Just hearing the name "Elemental Fission Barrier" makes it sound like a very high-level item.

Clang clang.

Soren swiftly disassembled the Superior Construct Golem into its parts, stuffing in anything that resembled a construct itself, and also collecting a sample of ' Memory Metal '. The Golem craftsmanship of the Arcane Empire era was exquisite; its components were more than ten times more complex than current Golem technology, giving the impression of disassembling a robot. Soren discovered the energy core he had destroyed in the Golem's chest, and something resembling crystal blocks in its brain.

"This must be its intelligent system, right?"

Soren held the purple crystal in his hand, his expression grave. "They can actually imbue Puppet Golem with Special Feat! How did the Spellcaster of the Arcane Empire manage to do that?"

Something very advanced.

It could even be described as 'artificial intelligence'; Soren was becoming increasingly curious about the Arcane Empire's level of craftsmanship.

He had absolutely no idea how to research this thing.

So Soren simply put it away, intending to take it back to Goria and see if she could discover anything from it, or at the very least help her upgrade her Steel Golem.

If Puppet Golem could be infused with Feat abilities, its potential for growth would be terrifying!

The Dwarf Heavy Warrior and two other people emerged from the front room, bringing with them many valuable items, including some complete, pale purple Crystal, though it was unclear whether they were Crystal or Crystal.

Judging from their expressions, they must be quite satisfied with the gains they received!

Soren needed to keep them satisfied in order to get them to truly fight for him.
